virgal-scorpguy: schoolmates, few interactions
guy has the crush. 1998, part ways.
starting 2006, they meet again, result of some effort from the guy on the net.
8 yrs in between, crush has given way to longing and more.
Finds the girl in none too happy state, has suffered a set of personal losses
and disappointments.
normalize, life moves on.
In between then and now, guy bares his feelings for her. is met with indifference and smiles.
he persists, normal weekend meetings, being there for her if in need, and we get along alright all the time.
what is not in doubt, is the understanding they share for each others life,ways,methods blah, blah. endure hours of silence in each others presence and insist they are not bored.
last Saturday, though a little drunk, gal
says she 'likes' him.
guy: "I know".
gal(surprised): how does he know?
guy: passes with a smile.
question is whether or not to hold on. the question is whats the chances she will return.

V-Gal "likes" you. But how much? I really liked the Scorp gal. VERY nice lady. CUTE. NICE BODY. Generous. Lots of good traits. We just didn't "click". We never got beyond feeling "neutral" about each other. That's that for me. We still email sometimes to keep up, but our relationship will never be more than a friendship.
Don't know what to say about your situation. But she may be feeling the same way... likes you as a friend, but just doesn't feel romantic towards you?
