I can't EFFING Sleep!!!!!
I hate when i go to sleep before the world does so i stay up too. Like the serenity of it all i guess.
I've suffered from this since mid high school. Actually, a lot of people suffer from this because the sleep deficit grows larger and larger as the years go on. Once, I could conk out at about midnight or 1pm. As of now, I often can't go to sleep until it's past 2am. For me, it's not really insomnia because once I'm asleep, I sleep like a rock. However, my problem is that I can't get to sleep. It's difficult and at one point I was really reliant on over the counter sleep aids through half of college. I had to write a sleep journal once, and I noticed how little sleep I was getting (on average, I only get six hours of sleep a night) and how the lack of sleep was affecting my mood. I also have a hard time getting up sometimes.
I learned that it can be due to stress, which can cause the mind to race right before bed, or just natural imbalances in the body. There are different techniques to resolving the issue like taking Melatonin to reset the body's circadian rhythm or using light box therapy. I haven't tried either, so I don't even know how effective they are lol.

Like I can watch anything on TV. Okay except the Kardouchians and other numbing reality shows, but give me History Channel, Science Channel, C&I channel, TruTv (formerly CourtTv), Biography channel, Discovery, NatGeo, Military Channel, Planet Green, Travel Channel, TLC, A&E.......there is always something to feed my brain at night.
Then theres the internet, Hulu documentaries, great museum websites, dxp, porn, youtube, etc.
Like I can watch anything on TV. Mercury goes direct tomorrow?
Besides issues with my car, me and some of my friends have had problems sleeping the past few weeks. Especially my 2 Virgo friends who have had a stressful past 3 weeks. I hope things settle today. One lady Virgo at work has been especially wacko through this retrograde period.

I've been so drained its not even funny!! Can't get up in the mornings, not hearing my 3 alarms go off, could easily fall asleep at my desk, some insomnia but that's always been a daily thing for years for me.

Ah yep, according to my ephemeris,
Mercury will be 3?? direct Wed. 14th December at 05:29 hrs [sidereal time]
I think the differance between sidereal and solar time is only about 4 minutes,
because sidereal time is relative to the fixed stars and solar time being relative to our Sun.
So solar time is approx. 4 minutes longer per day due to the Earth moving around 1?? along its orbit.

Worth noting:
~When Mercury is RETROGRADE there can be a whole range of communication issues/problems,
which I have also observed occuring in my daily activities since it went retro in the last week of November.
Another consideration of interest is, try to avoid negotiations & signing of contracts or important documents,
when Mercury is retrograde as you may experience unwanted problems/communication errors/delays.
It looks as though Mercury will go retrograde again on March 12th 2012, turning direct again around April 3rd.

See...This here. This is where astrology freaks me out. Before I came to DXP I thought I was just a Virgo ONLY. Never even knew that there were other influences in my birth chart, hell, I didn't even know what a birth chart was! So now I understand it better but this shit? Retrograde, Mars, Mercury, what? I have insomnia. More times than not, it's music....I cannot always shut off the things I've heard throughout the day before or something I need to get out of my head that relates to work, schedule, etc...weird but that's how it works. Other than that...stress....and the best way to ge tthat out and get some zzzzzz ain't being single.

During merc retrograde,my hairdryer died in mid use,a computer got a bug,the program that I bought to scrub it,killed the explorer program,my old computer cd drive and mouse port needed a re do, I dropped an a clothes iron,the dial popped off,my metal mop broke,and I needed a new battery.But other than that...

When Mercury is retrograde that is when Mercury moves backwards through your chart.Some people can have that happen on their birth or natal chart.At it's worst "crap happens" at the least,it means you get a re-do or revisit the past whether actions or relationships.
Since Virgo is ruled (primary influenced)by Mercury,the retrograde can affect us more severely than another signs.Mercury rules communication as well as letters,short trips,teachers etc.

It affected me in so many ways it was unreal. That's when I fully realized that stress, worry, and anxiety can kill.
No bueno.
I got it together fast and kept my tail out of the doctor's office.
That was years ago and thinking back on it even to this day sends shivers up my spine. I'm sleeping better now, and I literally have to shut my brain off when my Virgo mind decides to go into "overdrive".
If it really becomes a problem, you can get creative. My friend gave me a soothing sounds by the sea cd, and it worked wonders. Another gave me one with gregorian chants. Lovely. I was sleeping like a baby.
You can even get a tiny rainfall or do something as silly(?) as counting sheep. It really works.

not sure what is happening but sleep is something that is not coming any time soon for me either. sleep at 4 and have to get up at 6 am. Something is definitely WRONG with the universe.

This helped last night after work: it's ok to have trouble sleeping. But, everything will be ok. Either way, there's more good tomorrow to come than bad. You'll find out more tomorrow.
