My anxiety has been high. I don't make posts like these often, if ever, because I have a hard time just venting in general, but I suppose this is what I'm doing now. I don't know if it's just me, but I feel burned out. It reminds me of the night taurus friend gave me a small tarot reading and mentioned that the cards said that I need to find balance. Whether I believed them or not, she said the main thing I needed to focus on was not having too much of one thing: ie, partying too much vs not having fun at all. I admitted to her that since the new year began, I've been focusing so much on myself, my academics, and getting my life together that I haven't had time for anything else at all. My virgo friend, at that point, chimed in that I been incredibly "focused" lately. It's funny, because it feels good to know that you are planning out your life so that it goes smoothly, but at the end of it, you realize you haven't given yourself time to breath. As I write this, I have a proposal I need to finish by tomorrow; I haven't had any motivation for it compared to other work. I am feeling like I could nix it altogether and not receive the credit for it because I feel completely out of touch with it. I just finished a paper yesterday, and while I feel that should have been a weight off my shoulders, I am reminded that I have another paper due next week. I've been so good at managing things up until this very point. I suppose that among other things are really getting to me.

All specifics aside, has anyone else been feeling this way, lately?

I apologize for the sob post; I just needed venting space before I flipped out.

What sob post? You're young and you're human. Vent when you need to.

I have issues venting in general mainly because of the household I was brought up in. But relaxing in general, I'm going to try more. As much as I tell myself I should, I start getting anxious again that I have more to do and if it doesn't happen, catastrophic things will happen.

You've got quite a lot to juggle right now Candeh, school, life ahead of you in what seems a many forked and unending road. It will smooth out, snarl, and smooth out again. 🙂 And besides, you have all of us crazy dxp'ers that care about you. *kissing cheek*

^^^ I'm in your same boat right now. You just need to take deep breaths, spend some quiet time by yourself...be easy on yourself, you can't do everything at once. You're super, but you're not superwoman!

I'm sooo not a list maker (maybe as a Virgo, you are) but I found it really helps me to sit down and make a list of everything I need to get done. That way, seeing it on paper, it's not really THAT much and it helps you prioritize and plan your time.

Hope you feel better.
Take your time, maybe some walks by yourself, paint your toe nails (in great detail!)
It will pass. 🙂

Virgos are very responsible people. It feels as though it is our duty to be that way. We overwork ourselves because we love to keep our mind active. It is absolutely normal to feel the need to crash. All of these things come at us at once and then we're like, "oh s#*t! I am doin' too much." I told myself today when I got into my car that I wish that I could just drive and keep going without telling anyone. I didn't want to have to go to work, school, or anywhere except just....go. LoL.

Thanks everyone for your kind words and support, I truly appreciate it. It's been an uneasy time right now (I was even worse last semester). You're all really great, if you didn't know.

When I get really overwhelmed, it just bothers my anxieties, which in turn can lead to depression. So I've really been trying to focus myself so I don't have to reach that place again.

That's how I've been feeling lately. I had a random thought yesterday that I just wanted to hop into my car and drive, and I had no idea where I wanted to go, but I wouldn't tell anyone. But then I thought about how I'm trying to save my gas since it's like $ 3.72 lol. Typical virgo thought...

Something I tell my vgf is that it's important to put your own health & welfare on the must do list. It's not slacking or being lazy to schedule some chill time. It's doing vital maintenance so you can get back on the horse and keep at it once you've recharged a bit.

He tried to come back with something about not answering the phone, staying in, off the computer, etc. and I'm like no guy, go for a walk, get some air. Find a place that makes you feel peaceful and calm and fill your head up with that experience so you can bring it home with you and 'look at' when you feel wound up again. Sit and have a coffee, listen to birds or wind in the trees. Like defragging your hard drive.

I think for virgos it's important to schedule that kind of down time though. Don't just 'intend' to, make it part of taking care of yourself 😉

That's something I've been trying to work on for a long time. One thing that really gives me anxiety is time. I don't have great time management. I'm constantly feeling like I am running out of time, so I'm always trying to work to make up for it. Even if I finish something early, I'll realize something else must be done, and I have to do it. Although, I procrastinate a lot almost to balance my anxiety because as some say, "Out of sight, out of mind."

I suck so hard at time management. With my 2 husbands I had to do everything, solve every crisis, etc. Then when i was single I had to work 2 or 3 jobs to pay the mortgage, plus I was working out & had a busy socila life. I made it all work somehow.

Now my partner kicks into high gear and I don't have to do hardly anything. It's made me lazy & scatterbrained, and I really have to work at managing my time to keep up my half of the household work.
So I do red, yellow & green categories.
Red is must do. Yellow is should do. Green is want to do. I've gotten myself in the habit of triaging better so that only the really crucial stuff is red. I.e. is it breathing, bleeding or rotting (having a farm makes for some odd priorities). Yellow is needed maintenance like groceries, oil changes, horse training, etc. Green is reorganizing my pantry, ripping CD's into iTunes, painting the bathroom, etc.

My other thing is to accept that my attention span sucks, and find ways to break tasks into smaller bits with a reward in between like checking email/facebook when I've gotten all the dishes done or the laundry folded.

In college, they keep you on a crunch cycle .It's an artifical (man made )stress mill they created there.Definitely take a few minutes to clear your head, can you walk a different route to class, treat yourself to a new lunch place.Yeah now that you mention it,things have gone a little haywire;at 8:05 p.m. yesterday,my daughter tells me,she needs a trifold poster board for school today,"I forgot" and we have big changes at work.Prioritize and conquer.Try some flaxseed and zinc.Carry some extra energy bars or fruit with you and check in on that adorable little guy!!

Crunch cycle is a good way to put it. I'm the student who ends up with at least 3 exams in one week, and this just isn't a once in a while thing.

A lot of my feelings of being overwhelmed had to do with the fact that I wasn't allowing myself room to breathe when I once had before. But there were a lot of things outside of school work that were beginning to weigh down on me. But again, I thank everyone for the support and advice. I'm looking forward to this semester being over. Then again, I'm starting my senior year next semester, so maybe not, lol.
