It appears to me that Virgo's and Gemini's think that just because of this planet being a ruler, that it means they have superiour intelligence ... and this is in error.
I will also put this on Gemini board, so that they can let this sink in so Virgo's and Gemini's stop making fools out of themselves by attempting to make impressions that because of thier ability to "think", it makes them smarter .... when in reality, unless a person has had a labotomy, we can all think.
Anyway .. here's the thing .... you're Mercury has to be in the 9th House.
Hawking isn't as smart as he is because he is a Capricorn, Einstien wasn't so smart because he was a Pisces ... Newton, Fischer, etc.
All of those people ^^^^^^^^^^ have/had Mercury in their ninth house which conferred them to have broad principals with synthesis rather than analysis ... Mercury in 9th house gives the person the capacity of an expansive mind that is flexible with an ability to understand abstract concepts on a level the rest of us morons don't have the awareness to even know is in existence.
I'm just getting damn irritated with Virgos and Gemini's patting themselves on the back because they can "think", and basing it around Mercury without having the intelligence enough to even realize what it is about Mercury that makes a person smart.
geeezzzzz ...... you guys .....
Isn't this a bit offensive??
I totally disagree that having or not having a certain planet in a certain place in your chart ITSELF can qualify you being something. If it was true, life would be so easy and we would not be hanging around here looking for answers...

Precisely. I don't attribute my intelligence to where a rocky burnt cinder of a planet was on my birth date...
Astrologically, Virgos & Geminis value word-play, and Virgos will actually take the time to read, and thereby add to their vocabularies. Both Signs have great skills at debate, and elocution, and that makes us appear intelligent. But there's more to IQ than diction...
But Angelina, don't slam us for recognizing our own cognitive abilities, and then lambaste us for being robots! We take the time to observe, gather facts, and render an analysis -- lots of folks from other Signs don't make the effort. Doesn't make them stupid, but it does make us thinkers...

Marduk was the father of Nebo..(known as mercury) and mercury is the same mythological entity as the Mithra and hermes kiristos and the most recent version of the archangel Michael.
So what about it..
Feeling jealous?

Why would I be envious .... my Mercury is in my 9th House.
Most things fly over your head, theskys ... thank God, Dyr is smart enough to realize.
Wayne ... I wasn't talking about you ... the concieted ones know that they are.
Funny thing ... every concieted person I know, know it .. isn't that curious.

Many times, you quote Linda Goodman to say that you believe an astrologer over anything another person might say about astrology ..... and when you do this, you are only referring to the Sun Sign.
When it comes to other planets in your natal chart, and what they stand for, they are irrelevant to the make-up of a person?

Angelina,
Yes, I quote Linda Goodman, because I've found her descriptions of personality traits for the sun signs to be accurate. But, that doesn't mean I buy into everything said by her or any other astrology about why we behave the way we do...
Astrology is one of the oldest sciences. As I've written before, ancient people weren't stupid, but they were ignorant. They were great observers of the natural world -- and human nature -- but they were often wrong about true causes...
For example: Malaria. It means "bad air" because ancient people believed the humid air around swamps and marshes caused the disease. They were wrong. We know: "Malaria is a vector-borne infectious disease caused by protozoan parasites."
I can imagine that some day scientists will have a more accurate explanation for why Virgos act like Virgos, and I doubt that it will be because of where the Sun, Moon, and planets were on my birth date...
But again, being wrong about the root cause does not invalidate thousands of years of observations made by astrologers.
Shifting gears: You've mentioned before that some people use Signs to elevate themselves, or denigrate others, and this thread is in that vein. Considering how much nonsense & voodoo there is in astrology, I can't see someone being serious about it; and yet, some are -- but the joke is on them.

** everything said by her or any other astrology = everything said by her or any other astrologer **
