I keep on reading about the significance of the Saturn transit through virgo, but I can't make heads or tails about what, at the end of the day, it's supposed to mean.

Here are some examples...

"Yet, in a private manner, you are developing new goals that will assume greater clarity in September 2007 when transiting Saturn enters Virgo for a two and a half year stay. When transit Saturn conjoins your natal Sun you will awaken to a new world of purpose."

"While Saturn transits through Virgo, you can always do it better, unravel another detail, figure out a fine point, edit expert information, brush up on your skills, and catalog your body of work. You can take the details more seriously and improve your skills."

"Particularly from September forward, you are determined to make adjustments in your life style , your work, your home, and other areas of life. Your sense of timing and balance is superb now, and your efficiency is improved ten times over."

So Saturn is supposed to be really difficult, really beneficial, a lot of work, and on and on.

It seems that a lot of this is contradictory. Has anyone stumbled across anything that manages to bring all of these various parts into something a bit more cohesive? Alternatively, can someone spell this out for me? I feel like I need a remedial lesson in what the transit is all about and why I should care.

On a related note... is there anyone interested in shedding some light on the whole hub bub about the solar eclipse on September 11?

The Solar Eclipse will be visible in the lower portion of South America, specifically Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay, Peru, and Uruguay. We would expect these countries to be the most strongly affected by the solar eclipse.

In addition, countries and areas traditionally associated with Virgo (also Pisces, the opposite point of Virgo) may also experience difficulties. Virgo is associated with Africa, Athens, Babylonia/Mesopotamia, Basel (Switzerland), Bratislava (Slovakia), Crete, Croatia, southwest France, Jerusalem, and (Milan) Italy.

The most notable features of this eclipse are as follows:

1. The Lord of the eclipse (Mercury) conjunct the malefic fixed star Vindemiatrix, which is also known as the widowmaker, and is associated with trouble through overreaching.

2. Mercury is sextile a benefic Jupiter in Sagittarius, which should mitigate some of Mercury's negative effects. However, despite Jupiter's strength, it is in the detriment of Mercury, so the positive influences of Jupiter are not going to be as helpful to Mercury.

3. The eclipse itself is square Mars in Gemini, which is a negative testimon
