Well, you haven't actually asked him out, so I don't know that you can say he will shrivel up and ignore you....
Make him feel comfortable with you by asking him to some function, striking up conversation and seeing if you have anything in common....

Catherine, what are doing?
"last time i asked him (over text) when he wanted to hang out (which he'd suggested) he didn't reply. whats he waiting for? what's a girl to do? i'm tearing my hair out here."
He's not waiting for anything .. you are.

Cannot you not see?
He requests that you text him because he wants to hang out .. just so he can ignore you.
It's their game .. read these posts .. they all do it. Escorpiona has been pulling pedals out for months and months.
He loves me
He loves me not
He loves me
He loves me not
He loves me
He loves me not
And others, love4ever .. many, many, many women .. it's all the same. They give signals to go, go, go, go, go .. just to ignore you when you step up to them.
It's a game of emotional manipulation ..
.. if a man and woman truly want each other, they have them.

I just don't get it .. are women so desperate that they would participate?
What about self-worth?

Maybe what women should be pondering is this instead ..
I love me
I love me not
I love me
I love me not
I love me
I love me not
I love me
I love me not

Does that really matter? Men have to be held accountable for women when they have dealings with them .. just as much as women have to be held accountable for men.
Men are physical .. women emotional .. we all know this.
If you fondle a man and get him into his physical state .. you have to be held accountable for that .. you don't take care of him .. you're a cock-tease .. that is the responsibility of women .. we know they are physical and we have to take extra care and concern about what we do with this.
If a man gives a woman emotional signals that he is into her, even tells her he really likes her .. HE KNOWS SHE IS GOING TO HAVE AN EMOTIONAL REACTION .. it is his responsible to take care and concern when dealing with her because he made her that way.
What? Women have to take care of both? His needs and hers? Well, that's just fucked up, isn't it? What does he have to be held accountable for? A nut? That's it?
My point is .. whether this particular episode was a deliberate act, or not, is irrelevant .. what is relevant is that because men KNOW we are emotional, it is their responsibility to be held accountable if they bring us to the point of having feelings for them .. it's not like they aren't aware of this, you know.
Aren't you aware of what you are doing to a man if you get him erected?
You have to be mindful of that, don't you?
He has a responsibility too .. so long as women continue to let men take no responsibility for what they do KNOWING to our feelings, the longer the cycle will continue.

ok i agree that he is responsible for his actions whether they're deliberate or not. he did apologise for ignoring my invitation to hang out that time, i'll give him that. he also claimed he was an idiot. which he is.
to be honest, he could have put HIS feelings in MY hands and i don't even know it...he could be waiting for me to ask him out again. i don't want to make excuses for him, i'm just trying to weigh up all the possibilities.
and i know he shouldn't hold me responsible for making the next move but...he's obviously scared. if that is the case at all.

no don't apologise, you're a wise lady. i'm just a 21 yr old girl who's never been in a serious relationship...and i'm probably being naive and am gonna get hurt but sometimes you can't help who you get stuck on. and sometimes you can't un-stick yourself until all the glue's dried up.... for want of a better analogy hahaha.
anyway i can't just go and sleep with someone unless i'm in a relationship with them. i just can't bring myself to. maybe it's the cancerian security thing or whatever but yeah
x

It could be -- knowing the Virgoan need to process everything -- that he is attracted, but is stuck in that stage.
"Why do I like this woman?"
"I just broke up with someone and don't feel too confident. So why approach someone new?"
"Do I really like her?"
These are the thoughts that are hamstering around his brain. My guess, anyway...

Shyness is nice and
Shyness can stop you
From doing all the things in life
You'd like to
Shyness is nice and
Shyness can stop you
From doing all the things in life
You'd like to
So, if there's something you'd like to try
If there's something you'd like to try
Ask me I wont say no, how could I?
Coyness is nice, and
Coyness can stop you
From saying all the things in
Life you'd like to
So, if there's something you'd like to try
If there's something you'd like to try
Ask me I wont say no, how could I?
Spending warm Summer days indoors
Writing frightening verse
To a bucktoothed girl in Luxembourg
Ask me, ask me, ask me
Ask me, ask me, ask me
Because if it's not Love
Then it's the bomb, the bomb, the bomb,
the bond, the bomb, the bomb, the bomb
That will bring us together
Nature is a language - can't you read ?
Nature is a language - can't you read ?
So, ask me, ask me, ask me,
Ask me, ask me, ask me
Because if it's not Love
Then it's the bomb, the bomb, the bomb,
the bomb, the bomb, the bomb, the bomb
That will bring us together
If it's not Love
Then it's the bomb
Then it's the bomb
That will bring us together
So, ask me, ask me, ask me,
Ask me, ask me, ask me
Oh, la...

HAHAHAHAHAA! okok, fair point. i just like the way morrissey puts all kinds of issues so simply...so easy to relate to. but yeah i admit it's self-depreciating emotional masturbation. haha.

i met him in the local pub once. i was drunk and it was around christmas. i waved a piece of tinsel in his face and said 'bloc patty' (that's my jamaican accent for you)
he didn't look impressed so i refuse to like them now. i liked their old album but not their new one and they have no stage presence whatsoever which is disappointing.
