Personally no. I feel that we are different, but equal.
From my knowledge of the Kelts, back before the Kelts became Romanized, there were Powerful Queens and Chieftesses, female warriors, Female trainers who taught men the ways of combat. It was the Romans who changed that, and brought in their ideas of women having their "place" under men.
And christianity, also male centric... the patriarchal socity.
I also think... X and Y aside... that all humans start out in the womb as females, and some are transformed into males. Otherwise... why do we men have NIPPLES? LOL.
So it depends on how enlightened you are, weather you are a chauvinist or not. But upon further reflection... I don't think I EVER felt women to be inferior, even as a child.
🙂 I hope people don't think I'm a feminist or something......
But then, if they do, I don't really care either. 😛
I have noticed that a lot of Virgoes I know have the belief that women need to be protected and all that. Some people would consider that to be a chauvinistic attitude...ya know, 'cause it implies that women are somehow weaker. But obviously Ferghus 😉 you aren't chauvinistic, so...
is Clydelover because you have a love for Clydesdales? 😛
Virgos had a tendency to be servile and therefore protective by nature.
Ferghus,
Thank you for bringing up the historical truth regarding female warriors. Our contributions and significance have been much maligned on this board from time to time. Women aren't always the gatherers.
>is Clydelover because you have a love for Clydesdales
Yes indeedy. I have a Clydesdale Filly, three years old. She is the sweetest, and most personable horse I've ever known, but close behind her are her dad, mom, sis, and practally every other Clyde I've known. She's my sweetie = ) I love my dogs also, but horses are a notch above.
I'll put up a pic of her sometime. THe horse in my profile pics is Sultan, an American SaddleBred Gelding.
whats up with virgos and horses— i mean almost every virguy i know adores horses and i recently met this virguy who calls himself a Stallion and me his pony... hes crazy.....
>I have noticed that a lot of Virgoes I know have the belief that women need to be protected and all that. Some people would consider that to be a chauvinistic attitude...ya know, 'cause it implies that women are somehow weaker.
Women are weaker, it's a fact. In our anatomy, we don't have the same muscles, or, as many. Why would this be considered chauvinistic if it's the truth?
As for, emotionally . . yes, women are weaker and ALL women know this. If it's the truth, then . . .
I guess, my take on this Wheelie, is for someone to say chauvinistic, is really coming from a female who hasn't come to the understanding yet, to be weaker than someone else doesn't mean they are inferiour. Once that realization hits, then they won't see it as chauvinistic.
Besides, I'm not clear why a person in a relationship doesn't want their partner to be protective . . that shows their loyalty and how much they value their partner that they want them to be safe.
If a person doesn't feel protected by their partner, then what? Would they then say that their partner doesn't care about them enough to safe-guard their heart and body.
It doesn't make sense to me. I can't fathom why a person, male, or female wouldn't want the other to keep them safe in whatever manner is necessary. When a woman needs to cry on her mans shoulder . . is she then coming and saying he's chauvinistic because his emotions are superiour? No, she's saying, he loves me and held me when I'm crying.
I don't get this. Can you explain? You know how I am, it has to make sense, or my head tries to explode.
My dictionary says the definition of chauvinism is one believing they have superiority over the opposite sex.
How does that apply to protecting their love one?
I don't comprehend the similarity.
If what your talking about is the intellictual aspect of the Virgo, then, yes, again, they are smarter than everyone else. The majority of the world's billionaires are Virgo's . . that's proof enough, at least to me.
"Women are weaker, it's a fact. In our anatomy, we don't have the same muscles, or, as many.
Well, maybe, but we also have a higher threshold for pain. 😉
"As for, emotionally . . yes, women are weaker and ALL women know this. If it's the truth, then . . ."
I disagree. Completely. 🙂
"I can't fathom why a person, male, or female wouldn't want the other to keep them safe in whatever manner is necessary."
Well there you go. No, P-Angel, that's not chauvinistic, because you're taking away the importance of gender and bringing both sexes to an equal level.
"When a woman needs to cry on her mans shoulder . . is she then coming and saying he's chauvinistic because his emotions are superiour?"
Asking for help, or a shoulder to cry on, doesn't necessarily make a person weak. At least not in my opinion.
"My dictionary says the definition of chauvinism is one believing they have superiority over the opposite sex."
I already explained why it could be considered chauvinistic in my second post. I am not on a mission to achieve gender equality, nor did I ever accuse Virgoes of being chauvinistic. I was just pointing out some things I've noticed, and asking for an opinion about them. I know you are a Virgo fanatic, and it's not really something I want to debate.
Well, I mean...they were into the hardcore drugs...maybe to some their music comes off as a little strange; that's understandable. And if she can't really relate to their lyrics, well that would explain it even more. 😉
No, it's ok. I'm sure it doesn't mean quite the same to me as it did to people when the song first came out. But I relate to it for a lot of reasons. One being that I just graduated and I'm going to college next week. People like music for a lot of different reasons 😛
"nor did I ever accuse Virgoes of being chauvinistic"
I know that . . I was just trying to understand where it was coming from. I'm not necessarily a Virgo fanatic, as much as I am, an awareness fanatic and V's seem to fit this bill, from my perspective.
I looked for that second post, and I think that what I copied, and responded off of was that post. I guess, it's just a matter of the interpreter. You said, "cause it implies", I'm not sure that being protective implies that.
To be honest with you, if I take the definition of chauvinism and look to see it in human interaction, I'd be more prone to say that Scorpio's take on this trait. Sorry, if your a Scorp, Wheel, just how I see it. Not only is there an air about them, but, they have no problems in making the claim that they are higher than others in some way.
My father, brother and son are all Scorps, and they will openly state their superiority over everyone else. Even on here, they state it, usually on the Aries board.
So, I take most of my Scorpio's assessments from the men in my family. And, they are the greatest and most powerful people in the world . . from their eyes.
You can imagine the fights my father and brother had growing up . . who won?
Me, I'd just cry and they both would crumble, so this little fish beat them out.
Hey, cappy! Most of us VirGuys dig you Caps, we just don't UNDERSTAND y'all...
LOL!!! You not the only one who has stated this. Capgals are indeed the most misunderstood women in the zodiac.
If I didn't get a few kicks in the rear from reality, I probably would be very indecisive ... but I've learned better 😉 Directness is better ... if that doesn't work, run like heck!!! LOL
Well, since we're off topic anyways, about that "fish girl with her hooks in me" I was wrong, she's an Aries.
And that cap girl is still a good friend, funny story but the Aries girl that I'm now kind of after is her cousin... and I did not know this until recently.
>calls himself a Stallion and me his pony... hes crazy.....
I'm crazy the same way, LOL... and I call my Clydesdale Filly a nickname.... PONY. = )
Ferghus is a Gaelic (pronounced both Gaylick, and Gaulick) name and has several spellings. Ferghus, Fergus, Feargus, Fhearghas, Fhearghais.
I read once, but can't seem to find where it was... that the name means, "Strong male, and virile Stallion". So in essense, my name here means "Strong, Virile, Clydesdale Stallion". My fillys dad was such a stallion, and just as good natured as she. I'll try to post a pic of him sometime.

I'm so shocked! I have read that virgo men and capricorn women make a wonderful combination -- both as friends as well as lovers. LOL, I read that when they become friends, the thoughts of actually being more then that are excessively present with
I'm a 28 year old female Libra and I dated a 28 year old Virgo guy for 4 months last winter. He is a great guy and with him I had the most amazing time of my life. However, he wasn't completely over his last relationship yet and he had been in LTR for the
You virgo men seem cool and collective and all that jazz...but really, what do you fantasize about? Your lady walking hand and hand with you along the beach? Or getting down right dirty in office late at night when no ones around? Come on....what do you s
Hey everyone! This is my first post here, though I have been lurking on this board for a few months now. I first came to these boards during a rather short but tumultuous relationship with a virgo male. In the end I wound up heartbroken and lookin
The VIRGO Man "Why, if a fish came to me, and told me he was going on a journey, I should say, 'With what porpoise?' " "Don't you mean 'purpose'?" said Alice. "I mean what I say," the Mock Turtle replied in an offended tone.
Can you sustain a friendship with a female if there is sexual tention between you? Or, do you feel you'll eventually have to free yourself from the situaion if there is no intimacy? Or, can you deal with the tension and work to maintain t
Maybe because I'm an aries, but I find that my Virguy is kinda nervouse when he's around me. I'm not sure if it's because he likes me or if it's just my sign. But as for playing guessing games, I don't see that they really play guessing games, they're jus

I (Aqua Female)have been in a relationship for five months with a Virgo Man. Everything started out great. We would spend weekends together and we would talk on the phone every night during the week. He used to make statements like he felt he was getting
I know this seems to happens with Virgo men (both me and few friends experienced this one while dating Virgos)...but is it typical for a Leo to do the same? And why?
