When you're upset...

Hey fellow Virgos,

When you're upset how do you act? My Cancer friend told me that she notices that if I'm upset I shut down, like I get quiet and seem like I'm in deep thought. So what about you guys, what do you do?

Same thing. I get all quiet and usually get a mean face. Like this 😢 :O 😛

I'm not proud of it, but if I get mad enough to speak, I can shred a person with words...

I get quiet and start going things over in my head. I'm all gameface and stop seeing the jokes and reasons to joke around me.

I prepare my argument for the future and string together the words.

I don't want to be touched or told what to do.

If you do touch me, you better be sorry and hugging me.

If you are not sorry and persisting in your perceived offense, I will blow up.

Like Dyarstrasse, I'm quite stinging with words and most of the time I know just what to say to really cut deep.

My Virgo husband is pretty much the same ... he is normally silent/brooding, and only visibly showing is wrath when it reaches extreme levels.

And the funny part to it all is that they don't even know it ... now how amusing is that?

They would get pissy with a Pisces because we are emotional .. when in reality so are they and the only difference is .. we know it, and that's ok with us, we don't mind being human.

For some reason, Virgo's have this self-image that is completely off .. it's so off-base from how they project themselves that it makes you wonder .......

But, not all .. my husband's self image is pretty intune with his true nature.

Most Virgos are open - most of us have a bad or no "poker face" (especially if we're upset).

We're probably about the most expressive of the Earth Guys.

I, like the rest of you, also get quite quiet when I am angry. I only yell at people loudly if I am completely enraged, which is a rare occurrence. I'm fairly gregarious amongst my friends (not with strangers, though), but if I'm angry I become completely self-absorbed and I withdraw from the rest of the world.

i use distance and time as my allies. i think of different outcomes and possible solutions in my head in the meantime. i rarely yell or try to not ever say anything that could accurately hurt someone, but if people keep on pushing i might have to say it, so i rather get out and leave them alone for their own sake.

i feel better pretty soon, especially after some rational conversations and real affection that follows.

I do as well, and I also do the same thing while I wait. I continually go over hundreds of possible scenarios in my head, and this usually lets me respond to whatever happens with ease. Most people don't realize that I do this, so it appears that I am quick on my feet, but just the opposite is true. Nothing I say is said without careful planning.

Usually, I go away and do some sort of physical activity by myself - that seems to work the best 🙂 It is a constructive release of the energy, rather than a destructive one (such as yelling abuse at someone, etc).
