Hi Anti!....I just fell asleep again...I was just bloodletting some more, it seems to make me feel better.
Swan for tea...that's sad, they are so beautiful, but I guess someone could damn me for killing deer and elk and eating them....if your feeding yourself and/or family, what could I say to criticize. Breaking the law, that's different, but in truth I've broken many in my life that I thought were silly. I speed most everyday, sometimes fast enough to go to jail if I were ticketed. There was and possibly still is a city in Idaho that had a law against fornication. Unwed pregnant women are sent to jail and the babies are taken into property of the state.....Can you believe that, it's really true, I saw a tv show about it. What brutality!
Your story reminds me of a young boy who was seriously injured in an auto accident, his da and mom were fighting for their life and he was not able to see them for a week because they were all so badly hurt. They were good friends of mine and the boys-theirs and mine-John and Jon were good friends) I stayed with him to keep him company and help him pass the time....outside his window there was a beautiful park with a large pond and the grassy field was covered with canadian geese. So much so that people had quit walking there, the poop was so bad.
We were watching a show on the homeless in the city and how they would move there to spend the winter as the weather was more temperate there. We hunt together and we both had the same thought, he said, how can there be peole hungry in this town, someone should hunt those geese and take the meat to the shelters. I completely agreed.

I guess because of food and healh reasons, most businesses are afraid of giving away left over foods, but I would think if lawyers can come u with lock tight prenups...that a good samaritan lawyer could come up with a lock tight waiver... so that we can be less wasteful as a country..
Ahhhh, there I go being all idealistic, apathy is ruler, I shall submit.

Being idealistic is thinking that enough people will care enough to do something and change the current ouycome of waste. I am glad that you have found some businesses giving stuff away and I agree that much of the food would be inedible, but not to a pig that can turn it into chops and bacon.
The american indian was the least wasteful of all cultures (aside from cannibalism *crabbie has mischievious sick smile) they would consume all they harvested and use almost every part of what they harvested. I wish our values would improve when it comes to wastefullness, we waste so much water, food, electricity, gas....we will cause our own demise...
