Since the age of 4, Clinging to Dads t-shirt in terror. Knowing I'm safe all the while. Standing in the garage, Handing him tools. Fascinated with the repair. Maintenance. Smell of grease in the air. Flash forward. One foot on the peg, The other on an arm. Swinging a leg over. Settling in. The ride. Smells hitting you One after another. Fresh air, Animal manure, Water, Green, Mown lawns, Flowers. Telephone wires swooping to the poles. Zip, zip, zip. The sun on your back. Becoming one with the bike, Feeling the machine. Becoming. The low thrum of the engine Between your legs. Fluidly taking curves. Speed. A nod or wave To another biker. Leaning forward and low. To wrap hands around a waist. Thrilling. Joy, flight. The ride.
I feel the wind in my hair! I enjoyed both of them and I wish I knew someone to take me on a ride now. Hhhhmm...((adds "find a biker friend" to list of things to do))
I'll enjoy seeing the bike. Indians are classically cool, I agree with that. There's just something about that bike that makes me want to touch it, own it. That's part of what it's all about I think.
Yes Pat, listen to the above as well. Most of the boys ( and I do mean boys, college aged ) around here on what is known as a 'crotch rocket'. Built for speed. Which to most males of that age bracket is tantamount to gross stupidity. They use them as a joy ride and chick magnet. And the second. Somehow St. Nick on a Goldwing doesn't seem your speed. Mmm an attractive man on a 750 or 1100, giddyup. 😉 Harley, Kawasaki, Honda, etc. Completely up to you which you prefer the man in question to be on. 😄
I'm sure there are much better things to do with your time than diving head first into an SUV. Typical maintenance like oil changes, fluid levels, filter, etc. I'm sure. Working on the bike is a pleasure.
