Drop this immense weight you carry
the world's problems and call
help yourself to some wine and be merry
faith is a bruised lost cause after all
Who can trace the origin of such woe?
Blissful ignorance or noble arrogance?
Misunderstanding those in the "know"
mistrusting to a fault we caution to chance
Please, enjoy and eat your fill
humanity in denial may never come back
we may choose neither pill
in hopes a parent in the sky will act
lose yourself to the lyre's hypnotic tune
sway from the impending end of our delicate time
for we've only one dream that must end soon
no matter our guarded status or poor life style
Relax after such festivities on pillow and bed
pay no mind to the poisonous, miserable and bleak
embrace the coming silence we strangely dread
sleep peacefully chasing the enigmatic existence you seek
I'm new here. Just thought I'd start my first post somewhere. Apologies for the gloominess, I thought of my uncle when writing this smile
