Well, it so happens that I was asked my permission to dedicate 2 whole pages to me in an upcoming book called The International Who's Who of Poetry with one of the pages being my poem and the other page being a biography of me. Woohoo! (Hopefully it's not a hoax, but I don't think it is because I already had one of my poems published with this company before and it all seemed on the up and up, I didn't have to pay anything or give up the rights to my poem). It's like a 400-something page book. I'm excited. But I only have a short time to decide which new poem to give them and I'm freaking out trying to figure out which one. Or whether to try to compose a new one altogether specifically for this book.

Snoogans! (insert cool "guy" handshake here...cool "manshake" I should say)

Hahaha, I made a Yankee Doodle reference and I didn't even realize it. 😛 ('til you pointed it out and made it much funnier)

Poem Update: I'm stuck, I think I'm allowing the stress of it to block me completely; I have no idea whether to just send them one of my already-written ones or to write a new one. I think I have some inspiration to write a new one though; it's just that I haven't had adequate time to sit down and sort the words out. Do you think it's an indication of my un-developed-ness as a writer that *all*, alllll.....ALL of my poetry is about love? Try not to think about the fact that I use words like "un-developed-ness" when you answer that. (Because I don't use such silly words in my poetry, of course. lol) I never seem to write just about, you know, "nature" or...anything else. Kind of makes me question myself. But, they got back in touch with me *again* and said I'm a nominee for 2004 Poet of The Year - although I'm sure that's me and twelve bazillion other people too. 🙂

My smoking and I are getting along very well...just kidding...what I mean is that I haven't quit the cigarettes, and they haven't quit me. It's very much a codependent relationship. Every time I think I'll quit, I think of a million reasons not to. (Looks like I'll have to use my savings for psychotherapy, after all. Bummer) 🙂😢 (You know, deep down, I really do want to quit.)

I am still playing guitar almost every day and I am steadily making improvements. Lately I've noticed that my wrist is getting stronger (what a weird thing to notice) and that my speed is greatly improving. Started learning "My Sweet Lord" (George Harrison) today, in fact. I love the intro, it's so high and pretty. That song is also going to be the topic of a new thread I plan to start. "Most Powerful Songs". 🙂

Family situation is better, I think the mother spoke with the father and explained that the father is driving the mother and the daughter nuts, and the father knew this and agreed to not be so incredibly annoying, so that the mother and daughter don't have to avoid him the majority of the time.

And yes. You can ask me anything. And none of the above questions were remotely nosey.

Here's a question for you: When, exactly is your birthday? (And my most sincerest apologies if you already told me and I forgot. lol. But I really don't think you already told me).

*manshakes you*

Thank you for the boost of confidence regarding the recurring theme of my poems.

I did thank the mother, yes yes. The mother's motives were only half...in my behalf, of course. 😛

2 or 3 cigarettes a day is amazing, you should be very proud of yourself. I tried that once, somehow it just made me smoke more, out of insolence. lol. I made my own self mad by trying to control myself. 😛 I equally hate and admire those 2 pack a day cold-turkey quitters, I agree. It baffles me. I've tried that too and again out of self-rebellion, smoked a bunch in self-protest. I promise I'll keep up the effort, though. It'll all be worth it in the end. I'd like to have the vocal range that I used to have. It's not that my speaking voice has changed; it's that my singing abilities are not what they used to be.

I can't believe it...and you'll never believe it either....you share the exact same birthday as my very close Cancer friend, the musician guy. 🙂 That's awesome. We'll forget about Pamela Anderson (although, she's actually a really sweet person, it seems to me).

My workplace has become a tense and unpleasant place lately due to the fact that this particular lazyass whore who I cannot stand doesn't seem to want to actually work and stick to her schedule. So until my bosses decide it would be in everyone's best interest to hire some more people, I get to take up the slack. Pardon my unladylike language.

You've got lots to entertain you here, though. I peeked in when I had an extra minute here and there just to confirm this. 🙂

And actually it was going to be seven days straight, but I squeaked and insisted on a day off.

lol, HAVE A HAPPY BIRTHDAY! 🙂

Are you really having a themed birthday party? Because my friend who has the same birthday as you is also having a themed birthday party. lol. Seriously. I've always wanted to have a "very merry un-birthday" party, because I've always loved that scene in Alice in Wonderland (not to be confused with "Allison Wonderland", which is what I thought it was called until I was like eleven years old.) 😛

You certainly know how to get a girl to come out of hiding. 🙂

About Hal Jordan: my research has not yet uncovered his descent into madness (which sounds fascinating), nor his transformation into Parallax (even more fascinating), but soon enough I will have more time to really get deeper into it. Should be interesting; I am pretty intrigued by the reasons "people" have for selecting a particular username. Also I doubt you'd be into anything boring, so I'm excited to learn more. 😛

I did not call my friend on his birthday, indeed I did not; we don't really call each other when he's in Australia because the bill would be enormous, and email's free. Although I'm sure at some point we'll have a little quickie phone call. Before he came back to the states on this last trip he kept trying to get me to give him my phone number, but I think I was too shy or too nervous to talk to him or something because I kept conveniently "forgetting" to give it to him in my emails. lol...I'm so weird. I'm even too shy sometimes to talk to people I used to talk to all the time! lol. (In my own defense, it *had* been six or seven years or something...😛)

Anyway instead of calling him I sent him the Beatles Anthology dvd boxed set, which in order to save on shipping I decided to have shipped from a company based in Australia, but I ordered it with express shipping on the 26th of June and it still hasn't gotten to him yet! So I've been emailing back and forth with the guy from the company who says he hasn't head back from the shipping company yet, but that he will let me know as soon as he does. Then, he suggested I call the shipping company myself. Yeah, that irritated me, seeing as how I live HERE and to call THERE would be a huge bill, I don't think so...I haven't said that yet but I'm going to. I think he should be the one calling them. lol. Don't you think? It's not like this was a cheap order or anything, and with express shipping it should have been there two days later.

How was your fourth o' July? Mine was pretty boring; I barely watched the fireworks but could hear them all night because the people up the street from me set them off right in the middle of the street. It's actually illegal to do that here, but it doesn't seem to be enforced. I made a point of not paying too much attention to all the festivities, just because they slightly remind me of the "lovely" Leo I used to date, because we'd always make a big production out of the 4th and he'd take me to cool places to watch the fireworks.

When I went to Disneyland recently though, I did watch the big fireworks spectacular thing they do, and I loved it. Being in the Happiest Place on Earth sort of forces you to forget all negative memories. 🙂

I'm glad you enjoyed the Pear Blossom stuff; when I re-read my post(s) I thought to myself..."whoah, information overkill you big dork". 🙂 So I'm glad that wasn't really your thought, too. 😛

We have really definite seasons here. Although I feel like our winters are a bit long. It's fall weather from the end of August through the beginning of November; then it gets cold and stays that way until about the end of March. Then comes the rain....(although we get that throughout winter, too). That lasts sometimes all through June, in fact we were just having weird summer storms last week. But it gets to be Spring weather from April until the end of May, then it starts to get hot. And it stays hot until the end of August. But really, it could rain at any time, even if it's sunny and boiling you alive.

I feel like I'm talking way too much, so this is me, trying not to, and shutting up. 😛 lol...(yay...I have three days off starting on Friday! And I needed them!)

I think I was just hiding, in general. It's this very weird thing that scorps sometimes do. (As if "that's the only weird thing I do". lol) Apropos means "appropriate", right? Yeah, I think so too. The other song, I think I posted it in an unusually cheery moment, and, although I really am a generally cheerful person, I'm not *that* cheery. I don't know what I was thinking. 🙂

Yes, I was a bit saddened by the passing of Brando. He wasn't looking very healthy though, so it was somewhat expected, but still quite sad. Yes, he did experience terrible tragedies and I agree, he wasn't the most upstanding guy as far as loyalty to his partners. I also have heard that he was *extremely* difficult to get along with, in real life.

I can't believe that, about your co-worker's wife leaving him for someone on the internet. That's insane. Now, I'm all for getting with the new millenium and if you want to do the online match-making fine, that's fun and cute if you want to do it, but to abandon the commitment of marriage and to disrespect the vows you took for someone else is terrible, internet or not of course...but holy cow. ESPECIALLY when children are involved. I'm sure that's just wonderful having to explain to your children when they're older why exactly mother left, etc. 😢 I don't know, it really bothers me the way that a lot of people don't seem to fully grasp the concept of marriage, and the idea that if you're not ready to fully embrace it, don't do it. (Because then you're that much more likely to find yourself meeting someone on the internet and heartlessly screwing over your family.) Terrible.

The stuff you tell me about your family get-togethers always makes me smile. It all sounds so picturesque! 🙂 That's very cool. (Read: we never do such fun things in my family. lol) Anyway I hope you waited at least an hour after the pancakes before you went swimming. 😛 (Old wive's tale, I know, but sometimes it's fun to be a little motherly.)

The company just told me today that it was in fact delivered to him, it's just that the tracking info was incorrect. I haven't heard from him though, which is rather unusual, especially since you'd think he would have said something if he'd gotten it. So I emailed him and asked him if he really got it or if I was fibbed to. 🙂

Yes I'm quite happy about my days off, which is why I unplugged the phone a few minutes ago. Someone from work called, as usual, I'm always being called on my days off and I'm really sick of it because I have gone way out of my way already to cover for others, work because they wanted to go to some stupid party, etc etc. and I'm not going to be so accomodating anymore. So I'm not returning the phone call until the evening before I go back to work. (If I had time to explain what kind of flakes I work with, you'd understand and wouldn't think I'm being such a cookiemonster by saying that.)

Snoogans!! 🙂

Hey, thanks for understanding about the whole work situation. I've never been a manager before, but I have quite a few friends who are, and I'm also sort of friends with both of my managers at this place and they've mentioned how annoying it is to have to cover for people who don't want to work. All of us are being taken advantage of in different ways right now because of this particular girl...There's this kind of sub-plot going on at work right now...the "manager in training" is causing all sorts of problems with all of us, talking about all of us behind our backs and we all find out about it from the others. (It's a small staff of five, so word travels fast.) And I hate engaging in gossip, but if someone's going to tell me something someone said about me behind my back, I'm not going to tell them to not tell me. I'd rather know, you know? She's just a horrible person. And she's actually nicer to me than she is to anyone else there, and still I'm not fond of her. Very judgemental of everyone, literally everyone, strangers or friends or enemies... when she has no room to be that way. A Capricorn, not that that has anything to do with it. 🙂 But she's extremely snooty and only will wear designer clothes, $ 70 flip-flops, that kind of ridiculous crap. Says things to us like, "I'd really like to take you ladies shopping". Grrrrrrrrr. (As if we're too dumb to know that's a backhanded comment.) And she likes to throw her minimal power around to an obnoxious extent; always has me go get her food for her, her gourmet coffees, etc. It's insulting but I have absolutely no other choice but to smile and do it anyway. Anyway, the managers are both fed up with her and have both, seperately on two different occasions "hinted" at the possibility that if this girl was to get fired, or quit, would I be interested in her position. Well actually, one of the managers came right out and asked me. And I said I'm not sure I've been there long enough yet to be really confident that I could do the job but that in another year I probably would be ready for it. (It's a significant amount of work between my position and hers, for a little bit more money.) Still no benefits; still no full time though. Hmmm. But right now, I'm not thinking about it too much because I don't see her quitting. But who knows. Honestly my thoughts about it are..."Good Lord, is this really what I want to be doing? And do I really like the job enough to want to take on all that extra responsibility?" Something about it seems kind of pathetic to me. lol. Does that make sense? Sort of like...I shouldn't be excited or at all intrigued by the thought of "moving up" at a job in the mall. 🙂

Portland Community college offers quite a few online classes I'm thinking about signing up for, as soon as possible. Need to excercise the brain. Need to have something other than my inherently-annoying-because-it's-retail job, to think about. 🙂

I can sense that part of you that likes entertaining. I'm not exactly sure I could explain exactly how I sense that or why, but I just can. You seem very much like the type of person who would be fun to be around. And I have no doubt your niece and nephews adore you. I'm sure they also enjoy your intelligence. I just *know* that you have lots of little informational gems to share with them. 😛 I like most kids. It's kind of funny, because kids, when they talk to me, always talk like they're very grown up, very adult. I love that. I kind of like them to use their little brains. Because I remember being little and feeling like..."excuse me, I completely understand what all you adults are talking about, so don't assume I can't." lol. I just had a conversation with a customer's son the other day, he was probably seven years old, an in-depth conversation about how important it is that we have a proper security system in our store (this is the KID, telling me this. lol). It was great. It was al

YOU ARE THE BEST.

K, so here's the thing, it's 1:07 in the morning right now, and I have to get up relatively early for work tomorrow (it's an all day shift) so I will have to choose a time to write when I'm not so tired, or have to get up so early. It just wouldn't be right to do it any other way; your opening is so fantabulous I really need to do the story justice. So, as soon as possible. I would be happy to create Chapter Two. In fact, I can't wait.

Goodnight.....

Oh, I forgot to tell you my friend got the anthology...turns out the tracking info on the web wasn't updated properly. He even got it before his birthday! That made me happy. He wrote me and said.."I can't believe you sent me the entire Beatles anthology...treetrunk me dead, that is so sweet." 😛 Did I already tell you this? If so, sorry....lol.

I'm going to see Train in concert tomorrow night! "Drops of Jupiter"...etc. 🙂 I'll report back on the music board.

Chapter 5 recieved; I'd like to give my compliments to the chef. 😛 Excellent dish, just excellent.

Don't sweat the delay thing, I know you've got other projects you want to work on too.

Here is my horoscope for today:

"Today you will have a super opportunity to meet the partner of your dreams. It will come when you are least expecting. Be yourself, and you will soon realise that this fantastic chance can lead to the arrangement you are looking for. Stay open and place great value in unexpected encounters today."

Horoscopes like that freak me out, especially when I know it's not going to happen. I'm off today and plan on going absolutely nowhere...lol...
