I consider myself both. We were born on the actual day of transition and many astrologers do support cusps because (contrary to what some people believe) the sun is temporarily in two places at once as its transitioning.
I find that I'm very aggressive, short tempered, impulsive, athletic, very action oriented, impatient, etc. Basically, very much like an Aries. However I do have some Taurean traits as well. When I read about my sun sign, I identify with Aries so much more personality wise. Yet I am 1° in Taurus. This is why I'm a firm believer in the influence of the cusps.

though i'm sure i've seen people on here say early degrees in a sign means it's strong.
I personally don't consider it logical to view a sign "on a cusp" when it has just transitioned to the next one (and the transitioning takes seconds as far as I'm concerned). I used to think 29 degree will have something of the next sign, whereas 0 and 1 degree cannot "return", the doors have been closed. But I got skeptical even about the 29 degree having traits of the next sign when I read an article of a very good astrologer (Lada Duncheva) basically saying that the 29th degree means one has mastered the qualities of that planet/sign.
And if you feel much more like the sign preceding/succeeding your actual Sun sign, it could be simply because you have strong influence of it (for example you're an Aries 29 degree but have Mercury and Venus in Taurus or just Venus dominant, maybe even Libra placements and no Taurus placements will make you believe you're half Taurus).
Natal charts are incredible with their precise calculation. Why would you deny your own Sun sign clearly displayed on the tables...
I'm open to rethinking my opinion if there's a "cusper" who claims another Sun sign without having its influence from other positions.

What is certain is that you can't be two signs... the Sun sign up to the 29 degree is about your sense of self and I don't view it as a finished product either, it's something you're building as well as your true desires that you're willing to pursue.

And many were shocked people still believe in this "witchcraft" in the 21st century. But psychology is not much different from astrology - both are pseudosciences...
