I am wondering how do you deal with great disappointments in life, like betrayal from friends, family or from business partners? I am speaking on an emotional level. Do you ever get over it? And how do you do that?

It takes time even the really horrible shit. It passes and I move on.

Part of the process is I weigh the value of that person to me vs. The event. I tend to forgive and more so when I understand. I know what's really important to me, what matters at the end of the day.

If they do not win that battle " you fucked up and bye" comes to mind lol

Over all all things I get over and past one way or another. It really depends who you are to me. How strongly I feel one way or the other.

I try to be philosophical about betrayal by friends. I would stalk business partners and make them miserable until I have my money back . I couldnt handle betrayal by family. I am really poor at forgiving which is bad cause the bad feelings fester in your subconscious mind.

@lostthoughts - how much of an opportunity do you give the other party to explain their side?

plenty. I respect honest. We are human struggling with human things. Even I myself am not perfect. I have not always been this way but I am now.

Resolution is important water under the bridge is also a outcome. It's about what is important to you and the now. She what can be hashed out.

We all have desires how can you expect others to respect yours if you are not willing to listen and respect theirs?

How does that saying go? You get what you give.
