All that 2012 hype wasn't really about the ending of the world. Mayan astrology is an extremely ancient one, written in ancient language, so there is a chance that it could be mistranslated.
From what I learned from the book, Mayans only said that 2012 is the beginning of new era according to Mayan calendar, just like the year 2000 was beginning of 21st century according to modern calendar.

But still, from the internet you won't really find anything insightful or elaborate.
I suggest you a book about Mayan Astrology, It's called " Maya 2012", the authors are Dmitry Zima, Nadejda Zima - Russian authors. So the original form of this book must be written in russian language, I am not sure if there is English version of the book.
The book title sounded kinda cliche or even sort of fake to me, but I decided to give it a try. After reading this book I was extremely impressed by it. Whoever is saying things like " mayan astrology is fake or it takes 5 minutes to learn it " are seriously ignorant about it. Mayan astrology is not a well known astrology like western 12 zodiac one, so you gotta research about it. Also there might be some unreliable sources, which makes it all confusing.
After reading the whole book, my conclusion is that it is not something that can be ignored. Mayan astrology really need to be studied, researched more, which I hope may happen in the future.

I agree with WECAREALOT, and KaptainKhaos here. While you expect all those class, moral from women you should expect the same from the men. I find it funny how some men are so quick to judge a woman, yet they aren't embarassed to say words like : whore, bitch, slut, etc etc.
Male figure in the family ( father, brother) have a lot of influence on the women/girls too. There's my friend who has never been in a relationship, she says she just doesn't trust any man because she grew up seeing her dad cheating on her mom which left her having paranoid feelings toward opposite sex/ relationship/marriege etc. Would you want your daughter to end up like my friend? Would you want your son to become a man like her dad?

I was exposed to all those american pop culture stuff, well my parents were somewhat overprotective at times, but they never really tried to shelter me from the reality, which means I grew up watching all those Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera stuff but I just never acted slutty like those girls on the video. Cutting her off from internet, TV, public school won't really work, imo. It has a lot to do with how her parents have influenced her, if her parents were a good role model to her then society will only have a small minor effect on her. I, too, find it disgusting when girls act like that. I'm quite sure you can find messed up women or decent women from anywhere, from any period of time. Nothing wrong with wanting good things for your future daughter, but you have missed something. You are only talking about girls/women and not talking about the males.

East Asia, specially Japan is too much developed nowadays.

Why do people hate on celebs who don't even know them? I've just googled G.Paltrow, she may not be a legit stunner, but still I wouldn't say DISGUSTING......yeah, she's one of those women who can look pretty sometimes and ugly other times.
