I have come to this forum to learn more about cancer men. This is my first time dating one. To give some background info, I am 29 year-old female that has been dating a 25 year-old cancer man for the past 2 months. Thus far, he fits the description of a cancer man-gentle, kind, warm-heated, very considerate, affectionate, etc. Things are complicated because he moved over 100 miles away for a job when we first started to date, which results in us only seeing one another once per week. His work schedule is difficult-he works 3PM-11PM and his two days off of work are on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. On his two days off of work, he drives back to the city in which I reside and we spend the evening together. He is very affectionate and has verbalized that he likes me and believes we are compatible. We have been intimate several times and he is very gentle, passionate and attentive. There has been no discussion of being exclusive or where the relationship is headed. He always gives me a hug and kiss when we part ways and typically is the one to initiate plans with me for the following week. My birthday was last week and he bought me some very thoughtful gifts and it was evident to me that he took the time and consideration in choosing the gifts. My confusion arises because he does not initiate much contact with me in between seeing one another. I am typically the one initiating the contact with him, which is every 2-3 days. He replies to my text messages every time, except for the last 2 I have sent. At the beginning of our dating partnership, he had to attend a training academy Mon-Friday for 6 weeks and cell phone and internet access were prohibited, therefore we did not have contact throughout the week. Perhaps he has developed a habit and has gotten use to not contacting me due to the previous circumstances? When I have dated guys in the past, they typically contact me on daily basis. Friday was my birthday and he sent me a very sweet and thoughtful text message, but I was at work and was unable to reply for a few hours. I replied to the text and thanked him for the birthday wishes and I was hoping to hear from him when he got off of work that evening, but I did not. I waited a day and then sent him a text today that said "I hope you have a great night at work" and he did not respond to this text message either. Any insight and guidance would be appreciated. I am wondering if he is losing interest in me? I like this guy a lot and do not want to loose him.
