IMO American history is run of the mill and predictable. Maybe its because I've learned it all my life (its been biasly taught too). World history includes ancient civilizations and their contributions to the world, I prefer learning about that.
i was a b*tch to all the boys...hung out with some of the popular crowd, but mostly hung out with people from different high schools...basically, i thought i was too cool!
I only spoke to those I felt comfortable with, and I was faithful when it came to in-class assignments. LOL, I always listened when the teacher was talking because I never wanted to miss anything. Yes, I was late to class a few tims but only because certain People would catch me in the hallway and start chatting two minutes before class started -- but I would enter the classroom quietly 😄
Never was a big fan of the in-crowd -- mainly because I didn't like how they treated other students and how they felt anyone who didn't fit-in with them was inferior. I prefered to hang out with everyone, not just a particular group -- ewww! the "in-crowd" was probably the group I didn't venture off with.
However, I enjoyed the students who were more into computers, technology and other alternative things -- yeppers, I was a nerd/ geek/dork and darn proud of it 😉
my 10 year reunion is coming up in november... should be interesting. i am curious to see how many people have changed and how many are still doing the same crap!
I wasnt in either catagory... i had friends from all groups.. got along with everyone.. wasnt in any school activities.. went to vocational technical schooleach half of a school year.. took up cosmetology.. was considered a 'techer' as the other kids who didnt go to the vo-tech school called the ones who did.. i dressed nice.. sometimes dressed in flanel shirts.. jeans.. boots..lol.. i was a mix of the bunch and had a great time in high school.
I was way more intellegent then my friends, so my classes had me with the geeks (which I grew to find that they are EXTREMELY interesting) but I also had that cool guy swagger, u know...good in sports, girls chasing me, always dressed to impress, and fellas like to chill with me.
Honestly, I was a bully also. I loved to pick on the dude that thought he was the "Big and Bad" guy. I never liked people who thought they were tougher than me, so I always found myself in conflict with them (But really, I'm a nice guy).
Middle school was the greatest moment in my life...a lot of "firsts" happened then with experiences I wish I could go through now! Through high school, I finally "found" myself, and realized that I could do SOO much better than those around me, and beat the expectation that "people like me" wouldn't get anywhere but nowhere.
I was the maverick and leader of my own little band of rebels and outcasts all through school. I was a little popular, but became more popular during my junior year. In Junior Highschool the two hottest chicks in my class were hitting on me despite my small amount of popularity, maybe because I didn't act like an ass like the rest of the kids. I hated junior high.
Hey BigD56, you look rather familiar. Do you live in Cincinnati? Does your name happen to be Matt?
I meant to say I hated junior high aside from the two girls. That's why I kept to myself and my squad. My peers were annoying bastards, believe me.
Also BigD, you're not a bully unless you pick on people who are weak or submissive. You just like a challenge if you go against the big boys and fake big boys.
Whatever Kris, we've got the same standards...colleges dont care whether your from the north or south.
My math teacher is one of the best I have ever had...she loved what sshe did and it showed. She got on our nerves, but thats why I am good at it today and I dont have nearly as much trouble as the other kids in my classes...many from the North.
Yes honors makes a difference. It a combination of it all, SAT scores, determine whether or not you are a fasle negative or a false positive. Colleges have quotas to fill, they are choosing the ones who are least likely to drop out of school (M.I.A.M.I. "money is a major issue"). SAT scores are supposed to be the determining factor. Every school has a diff. cut off point for scores. The higher the score the less likely you are to drop out.
Books mainly...I dont like clubs and groups and I'm not a fan of sports..I was a cheerleader waaayy back in the day. Most of the groups were academic except Prom Commitee and SGA. I was in the AOIT magnet program, so we had a set regimen already.
Oh yeah, its boring...my TA sucks...she got this thick southern accent that gets on my nerves. I wish I had a better teacher...i'm mostly teaching myself right now.
Oh man, peaches, you sure do know how to bring the hurt....lol🙂.I was a weird nerdy little ol' thing. I was so nerdy and w/ a strong love of school, i begged for extra courses even though that meant i had to stay an extra hour or 2. Everybody who was anybody got on me (teathers, parents, students, etc). I was voted "Most Awkward", a title that im strangly proud of.
Do you have any unusual treats? Mine is Betty Crocker Whipped Vanilla frosting - just dip my spoon in and go to town. That and chocolate flavored cool whip. No cakes or jello required.
Okay ... tell me if I'm wrong for feeling this way -- be honest.
My "alternate" manager (I'll call him Pete) (I have 2 main bosses and 5 alternate bosses)can physical see that I'm busy or that I've finished my work for the day. So i
So I go on this date tonight. It's with a guy that has been pursuing me for about 6 months, but I've turned him down either because I've been busy or had plans whenever he'd ask me out. So i finally agree to meet him at Carrabbas, which is an Italian re
So I was leaving the grocery store tonight and like most evenings, it's pretty busy. I'm not the type of person who will drive around until I find a good parking spot. In fact, I usually park far out in the back of the parking lot. Well, I happened to
VATICAN CITY: Pope Benedict XVI said Sunday that he was "deeply sorry" over the anger caused by his remarks on Islam and said a quote that he had used from a medieval text about holy wars di
