Hello Everyone~!
Since this is a regular topic...
1: Personality, identity ,physical body, drive
2: Values, finances/material items earned, sensuality, pleasure
3: Communication, neighbours/surroundings,studies, siblings, travel (short trips)
4:??? Family, traditional values, mother/father*, end of life
5: Creativity, romance, children, artistry, pleasure activities
6: Service, duty, health, employment
7: Partnerships of all types, identity therein, legal contracts
8: Legacy (inheritance), mysteries/secrets, power, death, sex, crisis
9: Spirituality, travel (long trips), higher education, philosophy
10: Tradition, career, public image, mother/father*, manifestation, legacy (left behind)
11: Organizations, groups??platonic relationships, identity (in relation to society)
12: Subconscious, secrets, transcendence, self undoing, enemies, enlightenment
*there is much debate among astrologers over which house (4 or 10) represents mother or father.
Looking to the aspects (positive or negative) will illustrate what influence these houses have in ones life.
If there are no aspects, then look to the sign outlying the house to find the influence it may give.
sure!

Hello Jynja,
To answer your question(s). Yes I am speaking about Western astrology.
What I am giving is a simple run down of the houses. I am not speaking from simple internet research, or casual reading. Astrology has been practiced in my family for a couple generations, and while i may not know it as well as all my relatives, it is something i grew up with and discussed, as well as read in depth. Astrology is controversial because of the many interpretations that can be had. I do not feel the need to go through each of the houses and why i summarized it, but to keep it simple and name a few:
The 10th house, depending on the astrology represents either the father or the mother. I am inclined towards the mother, personally. However, some astrologers indicate the father due to Saturn (Capricorns ruler). ???More on this here
The 11th house is the house of organizations and groups. This is not a point of debate. The 12th house can represent institutions, but not in the manner of the 11th house. The seventh house is where to look for partnerships.
Much the same way, the 8th house is primarily the house of legacy, that gained through others/where as the 10th house is the legacy we leave. It is the house of power, secrets, and sexuality.
The primary role of the 5th house is creativity, and all that includes, be it romance, sex, children (that we create) and so forth. It is an indicator of sexuality (as can the 2 and 8 houses be), but that is not its primary function as a house.
It helps if one looks at the houses in relation to the sign, but keeps in mind that the house and the sign are not interchangeable.
The body ruling of the 12 signs is a different issue. While it is true that someone with an afflicted house can have illnesses of that house, that is not the way to base the house system.
To refer to the confusion over "end of life" The 4th house is also commonly referred to as the house of the soul and can indicate the natives end of life. I am sure a search can clear this up for you.
Hello Jynja,
Not sure what to say as per your confusion.
As I said, i feel no need to debate.
Astro.com is a wonderful site. It would also do to read a variety of books (that some of the astro.com astrologers have authored) because they go into a lot more depth than the internet, especially for someone interested in deeper research.
Astrology A-Z by Llewellyn George, and Planets in Houses: Experiencing Your Environment Planets are good starts.

Llewellyn George-- your source-- does not support your assessment of the First House ruling the body.
He states, as Jynja did, that it rules only the head and the face-- which is the appearance.
It continues in the same manner for each of the houses.
As it does, for those affiliated with George's school of thought.

"The 6th house is the house of health, it is also the house of servants, or slaves."

Very educational, indeed.

While for females, Mars and the Sun show our masculine ideals, and the house ruled by the sign of Mars shows what type of suitor a women prefers??_ His behavior and style ect.

When you say "the house ruled by the sign of Mars" do you mean the first house? Or the house in our natal chart that has Aries on the cusp? Or does the house with Scorpio on the cusp have an effect on that as well?
Interesting. Maybe it's something that has to interpreted on an individual basis?

i like how 4th and 10th house are placed in tradition as they're the opposites.

Yes, this is good. It keeps it simple.
There are too many new astrologers out there wanting make their mark by placing deacons inside of deacons, and it just fuzzies everything up.
