Houses: A (very) simple guide

To answer your question(s). Yes I am speaking about Western astrology.
What I am giving is a simple run down of the houses. I am not speaking from simple internet research, or casual reading. Astrology has been practiced in my family for a couple generations, and while i may not know it as well as all my relatives, it is something i grew up with and discussed, as well as read in depth. Astrology is controversial because of the many interpretations that can be had. I do not feel the need to go through each of the houses and why i summarized it, but to keep it simple and name a few:
The 10th house, depending on the astrology represents either the father or the mother. I am inclined towards the mother, personally. However, some astrologers indicate the father due to Saturn (Capricorns ruler). ???More on this here
The 11th house is the house of organizations and groups. This is not a point of debate. The 12th house can represent institutions, but not in the manner of the 11th house. The seventh house is where to look for partnerships.
Much the same way, the 8th house is primarily the house of legacy, that gained through others/where as the 10th house is the legacy we leave. It is the house of power, secrets, and sexuality.
The primary role of the 5th house is creativity, and all that includes, be it romance, sex, children (that we create) and so forth. It is an indicator of sexuality (as can the 2 and 8 houses be), but that is not its primary function as a house.
It helps if one looks at the houses in relation to the sign, but keeps in mind that the house and the sign are not interchangeable.
The body ruling of the 12 signs is a different issue. While it is true that someone with an afflicted house can have illnesses of that house, that is not the way to base the house system.
To refer to the confusion over "end of life" The 4th house is also commonly referred to as the house of the soul and can indicate the natives end of life. I am sure a search can clear this up for you.

You keep saying you've got no water in your chart when all your personal planets are soaking in 8th and 12th houses (12th house moon).
I've seen you post in a couple of places saying you've got no water (I read a few threads when all you guys are a sleepin in, thats how i know).

Awe! How is the Scorpio hubs? I did have a run in with my ex as you know Ive talked about a million times. He did finally come back after 7 months but I said no. I posted it a while back. I just vanished from him because I felt he wasn't really serious or knew how to talk to me. I did post it so I dont want to end up mucking up this thread with it.
That's incredible @CP! I think the closest I've ever come to having a cool music story like that was plucking strings with Martina McBride's father because he used to own a small music store in my hometown. I think I stressed him out more than anything though because I always to play with the expensive merchandise lol.
I've always been fascinated with people that have perfect pitch. It's just... amazing to watch. I've got a Gemini buddy with perfect pitch who can play pretty much any song verbatim after only hearing it once. *sigh* So jealous. That's really sad about your father's hand though. I cringed for him while reading that. Would love to see Charlie Daniels.
I'll have to put some thought into my list of best guitars. Gibson definitely ranks though. I'm a fan of the Zakk Wylde Gibson custom. She screams like a pissed ex-girlfriend lol.

Yeah I know. I dont feel I have a lot of water placements but some do place emphasis on the houses my planets sit in. Im really thankful they landed in Scorpio. I love the intensity it gives my personality. I am also very attracted to intense relationships, dominant men (they have to be supremely dominant to trump me), love the dark side of any aspect (but then my Gemini shows up and hello black/white, yin/yang, good/evil, so my duality really shows) and im really drawn to dangerous things like....S&M but more over not the physical but the mental aspect. I know I know LOL!
Needing a supremely dominant man is more likely a Gem sun trait. We usually need someone more masculine than us. Someone who can handle our masculinity and bring us a notch down and show us how to be feminine for him. Your scorp placements make you intense as in drill down to the core of a given problem and find out the whys (the gemini part) of it. You must be a very loyal one to your loved ones and also a kind of a lone wolf (this part is both scorpio and gemini - no matter how many friends a gem has, they are lonely. And a scorp doesnt maintain a lot of friends, only a select few that are like him in mentality).

Sept libra men come off as cool, calm and collected, but under that is an emotional mess. STAY AWAY! And also, september libras are different than october libras. October libras are more my style . Maybe because Im a oct libra.

I'm just trying to figure out why I keep thinking about my ex from time to time and miss him. I know I'm not still in love with my ex, and Scorpio does things a million times better in some aspects.
I'm just trying to figure out if it could be because he has the exact same placements as one of my really longterm good friends, is why I'm having an extra hard time keeping him out of my mind.
It's not so much romantic thoughts as it is nostalgia/memories.
