I mean, just because human astrologers way back when couldn't see Uranus.. that doesn't mean it wasn't ruling Aqua. We just didn't know. We couldn't detect it's presence.
I think my point is more that Saturn has more of an influence on Aquarius than Uranus, which rules astrology

If you look at most Aquarians you know...they arent exactly the stuff rebels are made of, no, in fact they lead pretty Saturnian lives, they respect the law, pay taxes, have a steady marriage, etc, however since they are the sign that is most aware of Saturnian limitations and boundaries (even more so than Capricorn, that simply stays prisoner to Saturn their entire lives) they have the capacity to get around those Saturnian walls and innovate, that is their ultimate mission, in this way Saturn is the most important planet for an Aquarian to be aware of.
