-- This is true, at least for me and my aqua guy friends. We treat everyone equally. Everyone is a friend (level 1) . Status, wealth, life style , political view, and even gender does not matter much. We are independent and accentric, so we respect everyone's differences. After we get to know you, and like you a little bit more, you move up to be level-2 friends. Level-2 friends are friends that we deem worthy to invite over for parties. Once we know you for a while, you move up to level-3 friends. Level-3 friends are the ones that go on road trips with us, stay over until 4-5 in the moring after we kick everyone out of our parties, listen to our relationship problems. It's a long process but once you get to level-3, you are pretty much our friends until the day we die.
The problem with this (we ourselves don't think it's a problem, since we are pretty rational) is that our female friends sometimes think we are leading them on. We may move a female friend up to level-3, but not in a romatic sense.
Now it does happen that we sometimes develope romantic feelings for our female friends, but it is entirely unplanned. It just happens. It's not like we string them all along and then pick one of them.
I have quite a few female friends that thought I am a biggest flirt/tease/player. Some of them resent me for leading them on. But once they got to know me better, they realize that I am just genuinely interested in people, male or female. I have to admit, that sometimes, I do fall for one of my "little sisters" (that's what I call my female friends), but it's proven to be more troubles than it's worth. The ones that thought I was leading them on became bitter, and the one I liked felt like she betrayed her friends by stealing me for herself. Jealousy and dramma between friends are not my cup of tea.
So yeah, there you have it.

I felt like I experienced a lot of personal growth this year...but overall, for family and friends it was horrible...there were so many deaths in my family this year...sad.

thats a mistake in my humble opinion. the typical unsocial introversion which is counter productive to a healthy life, marriage and all.
Now suppose you are head over heels in love with someone but that person seems disinterested, so you'd just walk away, because you have no other choice, right?
So if you barricade yourself in because you got hurt once, what really happens is that you are chucking out more than one partner who probably is far better than the one that hurt you.
We are allowing the person who hurt us win by fortifying ourselves into seclusion. In my opinion we should keep on looking as long as we could for years and years. Go through different experiences and when we find the right person we win, right? We have come on top. DEFEATED HURT. Defeated the person who hurt us. So don't let us wither away. Go out and experience the experience. ha
Pain is something TIME WILL heal. The important thing is to try not to make the same mistakes each and every time. In short, gain some experience at falling in love :O

There is tension not nervous energy in my make up; I struggle to reconcile my intuitive side with my logical side. Most days it's easier to balance out than others, but generally I'm a hair pin away from an explosion.
