cupcake sag,
If he cheated on you before he most likely will do it again...I said, most likely because I truly do not know however, why do you want to be with him? When a man truly loves a woman, he will not lose interest in her. What you have shared here...that after you being with him for a bit he looses interest in you - I am guessing that you both have been intimate with each other.....it may be highly possible that once he gets his "fix" = sex - he looses interest until his desire to be satisfied returns.
If you do not want to be taken for granted - then do not put yourself back into that situation.

You only travel. I relocate. Its a big difference. And we are shy people. We dont enjoy taking any risk before we get a clear understanding of local culture.
Prying into others happens only with online friends and only when they screw up the trust factor. Fear of confronting the past is a common problem. You cannot run away or forget something by not talking it. Without knowing every last detail, when you say you know someone, its just a lie. You dont know what controls their thinking and activities. Its important to reverse engineer a persons psychology to remain non judgemental and avoid assuming totally wrong things. I agree its against social ethics. But its the main reasons why society is quite emotional and vulnerable imho. If a person has a mental block in being honest, then they have to be forced to be honest. If she has a problem with being honest, then I have a problem with trust.
Familiarity is a very complicated factor. Most times this same familiarity blinds ur reason. When you watch a movie for the first time, you will try to see everything. Second time you see the same movie, you will start ignoring many parts. Slowly you wont get to notice those very common factors which keep repeating. All we do is to refer back to our memory and read the existing information. We dont process it all over again. There we lose details.

"Do you ever find that you sometimes have expectations of others to extend the same courtesy, if you will, whenever the urge to unload your issues on someone else, strikes you? Even if that urge is rare?"
Oh, HONEY! Story of my life. LOL Actually, I just had this happen yesterday. I went back to work after being off for the holidays. I went to lunch with a friend who immediately goes into a rant about the holidays, and how busy, and on and on and on. So I do my pisces thing: "Oh no!" "uh-huh" "I know what you mean" "Awww you poor thing" and I did mean everything I was saying. She had a rough time of it. But, you know what? We get back to work and I realize, wow...she didn't even ask how my vacation went or how my holiday was. WOW!
But I've just accepted it, you know? I think this propensity to keep all our stuff to ourselves is what keeps people shut out sometimes. I know it's the key to my intimacy issues, but I'm aware of it and I'm working on it. That's all you can do. I just need to conquer this pride thing I have with asking others for help, because we all need it sometimes.

reminds me of some American guy I met once while travelling, and he introduced me to this mental hoedown slamdancing style ...
Was he from Texas? Did he shoot guns in the air and go "Yeehaw" Like the Simpsons Character.
