instead of feeding the prison system lets feed the homeless
I agree however we both know the profit will NEVER be used for that
Only because of who gets elected and who stays elected.

If we went back to people being no-name public servants that weren’t career politicians and reformed campaign finance laws there would be no motivation to do otherwise. Also - if we remove citizens united and revise tax laws so Billionaires can’t hide trillions from the US government or get million dollar refunds then we would have tons more resources available to help the constituents.
Spoken like a true socialist
I always wonder the logic of statements like.

I can see how her stance will benefit her.

But, how does your stance benefit you?
Because it’s silly. These lifelong politicians are voted in by the people for a reason. The laws don’t change for a reason. Only the poor complain about the rich which in turn feeds them either way
You speak of taxes where weed is concerned but not when it comes to hiding assests when one is already a billionaire?

Your choices are like you are among the wealthy but you are not. Do the rich feed you? How so?
They create jobs.

If you leave them to their money they will invest in expanding their wealth by creating new jobs. This lets people feed themselves.

If you tax the hell out of them, there’s no jobs or pay growth. More govt assistance is needed and their tax money feeds people

Feeding the govt isn’t creating growth. Empowering the government with more than needed is same shit as billionaires keeping their money
If you remove employee based health care and add green tax credits you can still incentivize business.

Also shitty jobs that are complete crap that don’t actually provide for you and your family shouldn’t count as jobs.

Thirdly, the tax credits for the rich have time and time again not trickled down to workers but instead have additional funds for rich shareholders to buy back stock to increase their wealth.

It only helps their economy not ours.
Companies go elsewhere for labor/expansion when taxes go too high and it’s economical/smarter to go elsewhere. Can’t blame them and asking them to lose money is just asinine. Shaming them for doing so is just asinine as well.
US taxes are too high period. And yes, corporate taxes are the highest in the world. But, the tax breaks aren't necessarily used to stimulate economic growth or jobs.

US Corporate taxes are just high.

Most corporations tax breaks increase profit margins. Whatever distribution of profit they use does not change. They don't change their plans or business models just because of a tax break.

Just like an individual has deductions and credits, so do businesses and most wind up paying less than the statutory rate.
Companies save just like everyone else to build. Immediate results are rarely possible. Just think about the stimulus from bonuses. First thing these companies cut is employees bonuses when shit gets crazy. They pay these bonuses when there is an excess profit.
That's the good old days. And taxes do not automatically relate to increased employee compensation.

Remember the trend of firing people before they reach retirement?

Or, stealing employee retirements?

Or, working people at 35 hours a pp to keep from paying benefits?

Companies use profit in various different ways:

• Investments

• Acquisitions

• Discount to consumers for increased market share

• New products

• New locations

And, if they happen to choose bonuses, the lionshare starts with investors and top management.

Their goals are not US job growth. Just profit. And, they do what they want with profit.

Look at amazon. Perfect example of tax breaks and growth. NYC promised tax breaks as the company is expanding. NYC had an issue with it and they decided not to follow through. Now, someone else is going to offer them tax breaks and they’re going to expand and it’s going to benefit the people with money. Nuff said

Remember I said "new locations..."

As stated earlier, taxes are not related to increased employee benefits, wages, or US job growth. Just profit.

Amazon, Walmart, McD's.... just look it up.
