Mars is a "malefic planet" that deals with force, power, conflict, aggression, separation and things along those lines. Unless, someone is drawn to that kind of energy then, yes. Attraction and union are Venus' energy. Anyway, it's impossible to dissect these energies that way as if they work in isolation.

Mars is also sex and lust.

Only in modern astrology. In traditional astrology, no. Sex and lust has always been significations of Venus. Mars energy is involved in anything that involves application of intense energy.

I've been following a circle of legit, traditional astrologers, albeit they are relatively young, on twitter. I'm grateful for their existence as they have been helping to clear out the misconstrued notions about about astrology and topics within it to younger generations, and to the ones who have had enough of modern astrology's bs.

I've studied traditional astrology. Ultimately, astrology is what astrology does.

Just saying that there are different types of astrology, there is modern astrology and there is traditional/classical astrology and within those two there are more divisions. Which one you favor over the other is your call.
