it sounds to me like this girl likes you a lot but that she is (at 17, understandably) not sure if she's ready to make that commitment. she said that she feels the two of you have a real connection, so it sounds to me that she really sees potential with you but at the same time doesn't want to limit her options. now obviously i don't know you personally but you sound like a really cool guy so who wouldn't like that. she might be scared of the fact that you forgave her because she recognizes that she has the potential to hurt you. however you won't be able to tie her down if she's not ready.
