while nihilism doesnt equate to negativity/pessimism it is still a concept that is hiiiighly linked & contextualized through philosophical skepticism & pessimism.


im kinda being lazy here though so forgive my lack of thoughtfulness.

i got my degree in philosophy but havent read nietszche since 2nd year of college, over 10 years ago.

I definetly can't blame you. On first glance most of his stuff reads like hateful rants and anger. You are also right about nihilism often being associated with those things but that still doesn't mean that this connection is inherent and always the case.

Humes notion to just focus on pleasure can be a result of nihilism as well.

Nope, still trying to finally be able to write my paper and finish. When I'm finished I will try to do a master but getting a place will be pretty tough as well as the finances which is why I have been working on some potential ideas to do my own thing because I have never one to well integrate well into groups.

Are you eligible for a grant at all? Maybe you could study in a smaller group environment?

I guess there could be some ways and I might do something like this but that doesn't solve any of the problems regarding my general career. I pretty much have to build something for myself or I would end up in some dum dead end jobs.

I don't have a problem with dealing with many people or learning that. My comment was about my struggle to integrate into society on a personal level. As long as thare are many people and no real connections I don't have any problems which why such a setting is better for me.

i find this to be an interesting sentiment. would you mind sharing your placements? it’s ok if not, just interested in what is lending it’s hand in making you feel burdened by integrating into society at large.

i feel somewhat similarly.

damn i was gonna ask if you had aqua in your chart. i do too. for me, thats what pinpoints the lack of interest in integration w/ society.

and i wondered if you had sag... i have a sag stellium & a 9th sun. philosophical meandering ist life.

I'm not sure if it's the Aqua part. I think it's more a combination of aspects that pretty much forced me into a position where I have a very weird perspective on and opinion about things. My Jupiter in the 9th and his conjunction with the MC and all those other ticking bomb aspects it might chart probably never left much room to stray away too much from that path.

Which aspects in the natal chart do you think represent optimism, i.e. when you spend time with someone and you feel uplifted and inspired?

I see positive Jupiter aspects to the sun, maybe the conjunction, sextile and trine?
