I'm still working atm. They did have us limit access for all common areas/amenities today. It's scary all the sick people that will come into a leasing office =/ Had to ask someone to leave the gym that was coughing so loud we could hear it 3 rooms away.

Ok so we have the opportunity to get our hands on a property that needs a lot of work. We are talking total gut job + it needs an addition.
I’m unsure what issues it may have because it’s auction only (conservatorship) and sight unseen/ no contingencies.
Obviously we could back out once we get the inspection later on. But once we commit pretty much only foundation issues would be a dealbreaker (in my mind at least).
It’s pretty tantalizing because it’s in a million dollar neighborhood but is well within our budget and leaves room in said budget for renovations (addition would need to be a year 5 plan pending how many issues it has).
Am I crazy to consider taking on such a huge project? Between the 2 of us we have access to insider pricing, subs, and arch/engineers for any permits. But still...first timer here.
Both on the major renovation and living together.
What would you do? No risk no reward? Or pass...

I understand what you are going through, i too have toxic family members. What i did first was bringing the subject up and tried to have a heart to heart conversation, but it made everything worse, so i decided to put some clear boundaries in between.
It's hard, because we are raised to believe that if we have any family, we are entitled to their love and support, but that's not always the case.

I think my heart is broken forever. If you let this continue, the moment he meets someone else and acts on it, and you confront him about it, he will be able to say that he did let you know a long time ago he didn't feel like that towards you and that he is not obligated to be exclusive; people often use the lack of label/ambiguity in a relationship to excuse their actions, masking it as a higher level of maturity and what not. That is complete BS, after all the time you've known each other.
Please don't let yourself open to those kinds of scenarios.
