Real truth is that most women wouldn't even recognize the oh so fabled alpha male if he would kiss them on the lips, because the concept is not only contradicting in itself but also contradicts what most women proclaim to need and want.

It annoys me how society values the right thing for the wrong reason though. It leaves wiggle room for shenanigans like good woman flocking to flashy asshats and men superficial train wrecks.
For most of us, unless you came across a good example early in life(role models), from education, or you have to learn from experience you end up figuring out as you go. Have to learn what to ignore and priorities.
We really are like onions 😆. Layers built upon layers. Each layer leaks up and tries to influence the next unconsciously. Rarely are people aware of exactly why they prefer what they do. Even less question it. I always did and rejected it entirely. That was a mistake for me they have "some" merit.
If you want or have offspring, financial stability is important. The key to this one is beyond survival it becomes simply a personal Life style preference.
You do want someone who can hold their own and or reliable. Previously, it was literally life or death consequences, but now I see it as you can better focus on your end up the duties and things you want to do in life yourself. You know a partnership.
On a side note, if you require a good amount of quality time and interaction with your partner, a CEO would be a bad idea. They don't have much of a life outside of work.
All the qualities we consider physically attractive on a primal level are signs of good health. Even our scent plays a part in attraction. There is another layer on top of that connected to social programming and life experience. Physical appearance is fleeting yes. Beyond a certain level of health and so long as someone is not un-attractive to you, your going to find you can over look a lot of your more primal preferences and still have good chemistry with someone.
God we are such fascinating complex creatures!
As for a personal idea of what your looking in a partner, specifically personality traits, I'd look at why you were attracted to people in your past in the first place. Also in any real friendships you have had. The latter because I prefer female friends and I realise I was able to make those attachments because they had qualities I really needed and wanted in a partner but lacked some core ones to evolve it into something more. Makes sense when you think about it. Your going to be spending a looong time with someone. Better be able to get along with each other well in the first place.

He’s very alpha - business owners/boss, leader, very confident, good at everything he does, likes making decisions in all settings, but then he’s beta. Has a hard time standing up for himself when friends want something different and will go with the flow, I can bitch at him if I’m pissed and he sits there and takes it, very soft spoken, has had multiple abusive ex gfs. His adoptive parents were somewhat abusive growing up so I think that’s why he’s this way.

Yep. I tolerate a shitload and I forgive most of it, but even a saint like myself has limits.

I would question if he has abandonment issues. Afraid to push back when boundaries are crossed. That is a can a world I bet so I would just this question instead of poking at a open wound.
Ask him if he would be ok with his children or you being treated the same way he is. This woke my ass up because it's true. It's one thing for myself to take that crap but my loved ones...fuck that.
It isn't just about him. It will effect them too. They will learn from him and mimic him. It's human nature.
