I'm a doctor and was a TA for a several years teaching medical microbiology (more bacteriology-based) during grad school. I'm a bit out of touch with the advances in vaccination and virology, but to my understanding the validation process hasn't changed too much. I do work in medical device research and classification once it gets to the regulatory bodies (FDA, CE, TGA, etc), and I can tell you they are very strict. These companies are going through all the phases and protocols, albiet faster due to the extra resources. If the vaccination is FDA approved, I would have no issue being the first one to take it. War Angel's works in the area, so his input is much more valuable than mine.

You could be onto something....

I think it’s clear that fewer people will die without the vaccine than with it. Period.

Time will tell. In Ireland 1.5% of people have COVID and something like 0.0035% have passed. The vaccine could have negative effects on some people?

Lockdown will have helped there , strictest restrictions in Europe. . A vaccine will allow those figures to hold and we can get back to normal life.
