Water with water is likely not a good idea.
Personally, I can't stand Cancers ...

Recently got an email from the Blue Cat Screenplay comp. It was feedback for the script I sent in.
Pretty good criticism concerning overly long telephone convos, which give actors nada to do on screen, certain lines that don't count as actions being excluded altogether (e.g "Calum sighs"), certain scenes the script could do without, certain characters arcs that were missing (ouchies) and the fact that although my story was titled "Bangers + Mash" it wasn't the crime caper the name sets it up to be (double ouchies).
Now unto the good bit: it said I'm a strong writer. It said my dialogue was authentic, interesting and oft hilarious (the script was a black comedy). Get this - it said I was way ahead of other writers.
Thanks, Philip Seymour Hoffman's older brother! You f**king rock conkers!
Still, that ain't getting to me noggin', because I doubt I'd reach the semi finals, let alone win. And I don't want to lose steam (not much you can do with a swollen head, eh?)
But the feedback boosted my confidence.
So much so that I got me guns aimed at Final Draft's comp in June with not one burrrt two scripts: "Retrospect" (a drama, 74 pages in baybeh, ow!) and "Kimberly and Clay's Super Awesome One Night Stand" lol (a comedy, 19 pages in).
Who knows: maybe I'll grab my nutsacks and learn Chinese like I threatened to. Then I could exact revenge on Lady M.
Or maybe just say hello to her in Chinese.
Or just google it.
O-kay...
Just thought I'd share my joy even though this is a fairly narcissistic thread...
I do not give a shyt if I spelt "narcissistic" wrong... Twice (if indeed I did spell it wrong)
So kissa da ringa.

hey eden! aww big hug for you i missed you too!
her mum's an aqua, which is odd as aquas don't seem very attached in general (i should know, i have aqua moon) but i reckon you're right, a cancer child can provoke those feelings in a parent whatever their sign.
i just needed to vent, you know! i do love my cancer but she drives me up the wall at times.
