nah, it's more like bpd (borderline personality disorder). very similar to bipolar, but bipolar is about manic episodes (extreme happiness, like a natural high) and low moods (depression). the episodes last for a few days at a time.
bpd is emotional instability. more instant switches in mood. but yah, the two get mixed up all the time
