Ice Princess, You can't really compare these men because the one who "fooled you" did what some men will do: pretend to be your friend and wait in the wings for their chance to be with you. In fact, from my experience, most men don't really want to be your friends unless say you work together and get to know each other organically over time and there's no romantic vibe on either side. From my experience, when a man keeps hanging around you, he's interested in more than friendship, tho that's not always the case. He might be gay. 
Seriously though, this guy might be worth throwing out an email and giving it one more try. There's no way I can tell if it'll work out or not. Those are the risks you take and yeah it's definitely scary to put your heart out and not have your love returned. Still, sometimes you gotta live by the motto "nothing ventured, nothing gained." Sounds like he does like you. Maybe see if you can get a bit more chatty texting or emailing and see how that goes. Time will tell and I think Cancer men can be a bit slow. I know for me I'm slow to commit and slow to leave a relationship. Good luck!

Men watch porn and women read erotica. It's not to say women don't watch porn because they do and vice versa. It's preference. I don't think it has anything to do with your status, whether you have a partner or not. It could very well be watching transformers without your gf or a woman watching shopping network without her partner. Women get a different chemical reaction than men and vice versa in terms of sex. Perception on sex taken by either partner can be different. So I personally see nothing wrong with one watching porn without their partner. There will always be certain things you wanna do on your own. Having a partner doesn't mean you have to do everything together.

Ok...I can really understand what your saying beautiful soul. Maybe he needs something that he sees in her. Maybe her high esteem is what he desires for himself and he is attracted by her confidence. Do you think though hanging around this man might just drain her self esteem? If he doesnt care about his standards, then maybe thats why hes not so receptive to what she needs and wants. Then maybe she begins to stop caring as much or now shes an 7 or 8 instead of a 9 or ten.
I see that too. Its like one person becomes insecure and suddenly what they found appealing in their mates, well now they want them to change. Dress less provacative...cover up...dont put makeup on, just a few examples.
I see what you're saying CW. Look at the big picture. People come into our lives to show us things about them and ourselves. The good and the bad. We learn the quickest by seeing and that's both the negative and positive. Perhaps he's there to show her what's its like to be confident and secure in herself. To use her inner strength to shine. The door swings both ways. By having self esteem, you also will have strength to accept and love someone who may be viewed as lesser in several ways, but simple needs someone to encourage he/him to grow.
