The way I help my friends have changed and evolved over the years. When I was younger and into early early adulthood, I would literally throw myself into my friends problems to help them fix it. I was hurt and used over the years because of this. Used, because people would see my giving and helping nature and use it. Hurt because I would be emotionally exhausted and would feel what I thought I would feel in the same situation and it was draining giving of myself all the time and in the end I may not have made a difference. I was a rescuer.
I grew from that to become a more effective friend. I still helped and offered advice. But I did it from the perspective, I am unable to change anyone. I can give you advice and I can offer to help, however, it is up to the person I am dealing with to change their behaviors or themselves. If I had a friend who was committing the same habitual act and wondering why the result was always the same, I wouldn't get upset. I would just tell my friend, I have discussed this with you. If you remember: XYZ and at this point I really don't know what else I can say but I am here for you if you want to talk. I don't let it bother me if a friend doesn't take my advice. And I don't get so involved in their lives that I am pretty much part of the issue (In the sense it is my problem to fix as well) and I don't interfere with their own life lessons. If they don't take my advice then that is their choice. I am still a very helpful friend but I don't allow other people's problems to affect me another. I am no longer a rescuer. But friends know I am there for them and whatever is said to me is said in strict confidence.
However, on the other end of the stick, I have problems opening myself up to people and to trusting people. I can be there for a friend but I am very comfortable to letting them be there for me. I am cautious to opening myself up. I am not sure if it is pride or fear of exposing my vulnerabilities or both. Basically it is hard for me to allow someone to be that friend to me that I am to them.

I agree with NYAA. When they do things for you, spend lots of time with you and contact you every day, they're into you. Does that help?

In the beginning they appear that way. Once either of you start to have feelings is when the roller coaster begins and they seem to change. If they are into you its not that bad but you're left wondering and the insecurities come into play and you can't let it get to you.
I don't mean this in a negative way. Just saying, it could happen and stay strong and don't be insecure. Aqua men like confident, bold, independent women. Insecurity and neediness will be a turn off. If he does detach or disappear for a day or two, don't freak out over it. They need a lot of space and sometimes they need to step back and process.
I'm sure the aquas here will correct me if I say something erroneous.

A little story
My Aquarius uncle and aunt (Aquarius uncle had MErcury and Venus Pisces also) actually let their god son and his mom live with them for years. YEARS. I used to be over there, neighborhood kids used to be in and out of that house, the god son , who I call my cousin too , my blood cousins . Random people . Really all about making sure everyone had something to eat or a safe place to be.
