Because at least for me that is, it is easier to cut people off that we think will hurt us and in that way we save ourselves from heartache down the road. His agression is from some other psychological reason. Could be circustances of his parents divorce, frustrations, not getting attention from dad or mom, no parental support, mental abuse from his parents, etc. You did nothing wrong but be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Yes, I often do write in my journal. If I didn't, I think I'd scare everyone off with frequent philosophical, existential rants. There is so much information stored within us I feel it's necessary to write things down- we can look back on them and remember our previous thoughts, our rambling riddles we once found to be of importance. It is a timeline, a document of ones pondering. A contrast of future and past realities.
So yes, I do. I like to tape flowers inside my journal also and look back on them some year later when they're dried and frozen there- a reminder from my past self to my present self that one day, my present circumstances will also be a memory.
