I feel like in a lot of ways "happiness" is a lot less than it is cracked up to be and yet it is an important concept to understand being so universal and unanimously desirable.
I think many people believe it to have a type of self actualized type of nature. Like it is a state of being in the future that is attainable once the current problems x, y, and z are all in order. Some think it is a mindset that can be acquired now if one so chooses. Some think it's in a job, a relationship, a spiritual belief, a particular life style , ect.
And although people may not admit to thinking such, being that it looks a lot more naive now written out on paper, these are some popular views.
The truth is, "happiness" is a lot more ambiguous than that and multifaceted. To say that it is any of the above is wrong because, put simply, it's ALL of the above.
The reason I think so is because happiness is a lot more fleeting and relative than people might first believe being that it is based on so many sources.
I can be happy about the present because I am pleased with my present circumstance.
I can be happy about the near future in anticipation of a joyful event.
I can be happy about the far future because I have great optimism for what could unfold.
I can be happy about the not to distant and distant past when I reflect on good times.
However, the thing that concerns me is when we apply happiness to the jobs, relationships, ect. it becomes relative. Yes, it's partially your mindset and there are obviously times when one can expect to be unhappy, but can one be happy with the short end of the stick?
Is there only so much happiness in the world?
How happy can we be knowing that someone else has more?
Or even, how happy can we be when somebody else has the only one?
There's only one CEO of that company. There's only one guy taking that girl home. So on and so on.
I'm curious to know what the rest of you think.
I think happiness is a duality with relativity on one side and state of mind on the other and the more you lean on one, the less you rely on the other.
Sorry for my rambling. What are your thoughts?

to trust since I don't know hows your life. I believe you can understand that. Being friends need trust, doesn't it". He replied after a while, "Sure, trust is a must. And it takes time to build. We have only known each other for less than a week. We'll be alright." And I just replied "I hope so".
Today we didn't communicate the whole day. But I couldn't hold myself and I texted him, "have a good sleep". around 1am and he responded " you too, dear".
I would like to know if I need to wait for this guy or just leave him? I don't know if he is interested in me or not. Really hard to get to know someone without seeing in a person while the communication is lacking. I'm interested with this guy coz his personality and he was the one who was interested and emailed me on the dating site first.
Anyone could help please?
