It doesn't-- but I get the feeling, unfortunately, that the current generation doesn't fall into that category.
I could be wrong, but it doesn't even seem like kids play outside, anymore.
I don't see them the same way as I see the pioneers or the founding fathers-- they were survivalists.
Now, they make tv shows about people like that-- because we're so far removed, it's a novelty.
Very true. I think that's another sign of where we are as a tech based society. Men don't have to hunt for food anymore thanks to the grocer system so they no longer need to learn. It's illegal to really "fight" so even though it still happens--more like awkward pushing matches half the time--self or home defense, or the defense of a lady's honor, what have you, is no longer a part of the skillset. And little boys no longer play outside because they have Xbox and Facebook inside. They're failing to learn responsibility because they aren't being held accountable for their actions from early age due to society encouraging a rather lax parenting style where discipline is oddly frowned upon.
It isn't that they aren't 'men' anymore in the sense that we traditionally think of males as being so much as they are the men reflected by how our traditional roles and viewpoints have changed with time. They've adapted to fit what society needs today rather than what it valued in times past.
Basically, they are what they have been made to be.click to expand
