I have Virgo rising and I am extremely self critical. When it comes to others i'm super laid back....but I'm SO highly critical of myself, my appearance, etc its almost obsessive.
+1 over analyze everything, somewhat perfectionist...
I'm not sure if it's do to my Virgo rising but I take a lot of things pretty literally, jokes sometimes fly right over my head (has to be my sun sign lol makes me slow at times)click to expand
my husband has a virgo rising but he's more a perfectionist for himself. Jokes don't fly over his head though. But if he's in a serious mood, no jokes ever.
hmmm does he see me as a project? maybe. mercury loves jupiter and jupiter loves mercury to complete a whole.

Shell, that's pretty much a good summation, at least with the shallow Virgos I know. They're very obsessed with what others think of them, how they look, and what they think of how everyone else looks like, acts like, etc. And they have a nasty jealous streak if they think you're thinner, prettier, more successful, happier, whatever. My ex virgo friend told me on her wedding day that she didn't want to marry the man she was marrying and I told her to call it off and don't marry him. "NO, What would everyone think?" Well, they're miserable together and pretty much always have been but both so concerned about what everyone will think if they divorce and she's worried that her life won't be as easy and she won't have as much money....so they stay together and stay miserable. He looks like a beat, bone weary man (he's leo and has a reputation as a chronic cheater), and she looks like she tries too hard to look pretty, won't leave the house without makeup EVER, prefers to shop, etc. The whole time she acts like a complete prude and a self righteous religious person and she's saying how she HATES this person for being so skinny or so young or so rich, etc. And she took the abusive ex husband's side in my divorce but tries to say how much she cares about me while she defends him to me. YUCK YUCK BARF GAG
hmm must be something else in his chart. doesnt sound very virgo to me.
i guess cause i know my virgo father in law pretty well. him being a double virgo with scorpio stellium, he doesn't care about what other people think. for himself he wants to be a perfectionist. to look within himself that he did something magnficient. it's just something that drives his inner demons. I believe that he has achieved alot and has every satifaction he's always wanted in life. he has received many blessings, a good life, traveling to places he has always dreamed of, a good wife, ect.
perhaps it's her childhood, and also contributing to her placements too. astrology seem to work in tandem to their placements and will notably make the darker sides unbearable for alot of people, if the upbringing is bad/full of lack of love.
