One of my jobs cut my hours because of ACA.
At my other job on Tuesday (a healthcare facility) I was listening to a patient flipping out on the woman at the front desk because she now has a $ 100 copay.
To those wishing for a single payor system.. You need to seriously rethink that.
It needs to be repealed. Period.
Not saying I like the way things are, make no mistake. I agree, we should not be penalized for buying a product. That's really all it is, a product.

Problem is... Americans are so brainwashed in to thinking music awards are more important than what's going on in DC. They have no idea what our elected servants (the gov't) are doing nor how it effects them.

Newsflash, something you all don't seem to be aware of- half that shit does NOT cost as much as they bill you for. If you seriously think a lab truly costs 1200, you're naive as eff.
One, medical over inflates a lot of things BECAUSE of insurance. Insurance companies ALREADY don't pay out like they should. The bill is negotiated between hospital/medical and the insurance company. Knowing this, the hospitals raise the costs of healthcare above and beyond what it should be just to recoup the loss they know they'll be getting from insurance. This is also why hospitals are willing to negotiate a "cash" option to patients with no insurance.
Also, Medicaid/Medicare vs insurance? The former wins when it comes to getting paid. It's why you'll hear a lot about scams involved with government based programs like that because as long as all the appropriate paperwork and proper terminology is used, they'll pay for it. "As needed" is a broad term and it takes this slight word usage and this paperwork to get it covered.
Insurance pays based on "do we want to cover this?"
I really wish mine had been a simple "life got both of us busy and the mundane took the zing away" situation. That's fixable, in my opinion, and just a matter of making the time and getting the passion back. For me it was a matter of knowing that it had run into the ground and was only going to get worse. It was just a matter of time before it got physical. He'd threatened to shoot my horses, cocked a fist a few times but hadn't crossed the line, yet. I'm very glad that I made the decision to get out. He's still mad as hell and still an epic asshole but I don't have to live with him or talk to him often. It's such a relief!

First thing I need to mention - An earth sign will quickly assess a situation and the environment and they will find the easiest solution for it. I have a story for this
When I was younger,..6 or 7 years..I went with my mother to the seaside. She went swimming and never came back..she always came back after one hour because she liked swimming far away. I concluded she must have drowned, looked for a lifeguard, didn't find one. I didn't panic at all, gathered all the towels and other stuff from the beach and went to the hotel. I asked the receptionist to allow me to call my dad, because no one was using cell phones at that point. Told him what happened, told him I will go up to the room and gather our luggage, check out from the hotel and go to the train station with the money I have left. He told me to stay put in the room and he'll come with the first train in the evening.
I remember staying in that room and figuring out the odds - will her body wash ashore? How much will the burial cost? Do we have enough money for that? My parents were struggling financially so that's what was going through my mind the most. My mom came back after 3 more hours. To this day she thinks I am a sociopath. My dad understood my reasoning perfectly.
