We're old friends and used to get on very well. I've always liked and respected him. I think part of the "new unimproved" possessiveness is related to me growing up a bit. Over the past year I've dropped all my college weight gain and put more effort into my appearance. I do have strong work ethics and so does he, so I know he values me for that. But it's like, after I got "prettier," he became this dog in the manger and cannot bear for me to interact too much with anyone besides him. I'm not sure he wants me himself or just doesn't want anyone else to have me.
