When you say lack of contribution to your family do you mind being a little more specific? I am just curious. Are we speaking about kids or more along the lines of household work, finances, pets, etc? Or are we speaking to him not putting forth the effort to spend time with your family, etc?
I'm typically present in relationships but the partner has to understand a few things. One of them being that I'm introverted so I need my own time. If I am not provided my own down time for recharge things start turning ugly as I am less able to cope with things. My typical patience turns to short fuse!

Instead of going to the sperm bank like its Walmart you should find a nice, hard working guy and make his day. I'm not saying do it with anybody, but don't be too shallow either. You want to procreate life, so be kind to life. Life doesn't always look like Johnny Depp.
There's pros and cons to both.
The good thing about DMV personally picking a 'nice' guy is she can actually assess personality traits as well in real time and other mental issues. The drawback is, she might dismiss the actual genetic flaws that they might pass on to their baby. It can be overlooked because she loves the guy.
Whereas, if she went to a sperm bank, the genetic flaws can be minimal aside from picking the looks and general traits. The problem with this is, the personality aspect can give the element of surprise.

Im going to give you an example of my awesomeness. As I said the last time I was arrested I decided to change my life. Before then I had been selling dope since a teenager in and out of trouble gang banging and being an outlaw not just in chicago but everywhere detroit vegas even in Asia. The law took everything the last time including my ego. I worked when I came home from the bootcamp went throough discrimination at my job and won some money. Used that money to pay for college and graduated with honors. Went into sales because I still wanted to hustle just legally. This new job I have is with a fortune 500 company. I've only been there 5 months and the've offered me an opportunity to open a new office. I should easily make 200+ this year and I promise I will work less than full time hours. I get brand new 2014 Large crew cab truck plus two paid 5star week vacations for me and a lady. Im just getting started. Thats just scratching the surface. When I say I'm awesome I don't mean Im perfect I mean I am a living inspiration in many ways. Anyway, apparently you were really smitten by her because you still can't stop talking about her. I think you are still interested in pursing her, but I'm sure your ego won't allow it. If you loose just a tad bit of that ego, and retain all of that adoring confidence, you can possibly have another chance at love.
