Wow I've been away for a couple of days and came back to this wonderful discussion.
I'm a firm believer in astrology so that's the view I am coming from.
I've been a long time lurker of the boards and only recently made an account to start adding some input rather than going "I wish I could say...."
I'm no expert by any means and I agree that learning your chart and your placements gives you such a fantastic understanding of who you are and why you do or react as you do.
My "beef" is the ones who say things like "Well it's my .... moon that makes me do this so STFU".
Why certainly it may be your moon placement that causes you to do whatever it is that you do, however now you are aware of it and you know that it's not necessarily the most beneficial action/reaction/whatever maybe you should look at it as a "hmmm now I know WHY I do it, let's look at ways of working with it and making things better".
For the person (sorry I can't remember people's user names - you said Gday - yay) who challenged me to have an Aquarius dominant chart...well I am married to a Pisces who has a lot of Aries and Aquarius in his chart and one of my closest friends is a very outspoken Aquarian, my father is an Aquarian and my son is also.
My challenge is the Aries in my chart, alongside the Cancer Venus and Mars. I believe that is why my husnad and I were put together. He toughens me up and I soften his edges. My Aries used to cause me to speak a lot in anger and say terrible things. Once I discovered what it was that made me do that I was able to deal with it and work around it.
I am also double Taurus which makes me fat and ill tempered as well ha! My challenge is to not eat so much and not get cranky when I am deprived of chocolate!
