??? Perhaps its all me, but I read your initial post three times and don't understand your dilemma. Are you wanting to know why she asked questions about your marriage while you were having a conversation about your marriage? Why she complimented your home? Why she said it was OK to write her?

They don't beat kids over there? Beating was acceptable in our schools until recently. I had a very mean teacher in primary school & she used to beat very badly. The hand was the only acceptable spot to be hit. And something strange happens when you're hit with a stick on the hand. It makes you lift a leg lol. So this teacher would hit both the hand & the leg. It was horrible especially in winter. Kids these days are lucky, they are now the ones beating the shit out of their teachers.
