Rabbit, the question is, unless an ex did something unforgivable or detrimental, whats wrong with being friends? My last two LTR's are still close friends. One of which is the father of my son. We can go have a beer together, drive together if my son has an activity we are going to see and I even helped him pick out a purchase together a few weeks ago. The same with my ex boyfriend, we are very cordial and can hang out like two adults.
Now..if I'm in a serious relationship I would not do that other than my ex husband and communicating about our son..nor would I if he moved on. (I'm seeing someone but he doesn't mind, as he is on good terms with his ex too) But really, what's the big deal here? You aren't the first person to ask this and I truly don't understand what the issue with that is.
Short term ex's...I'm thinking no. But someone you've spent a lot of years with, there's some compatibility to have formed the relationship to begin with, if that's still there why hack it?
