Oh, SagAngel, he likely just freaked himself out with the great night and intensity and couldn't do another day/evening of it so soon. You've been on and then off and now on again with him over how many years time? A few years? Just trying to recall the time span.
You really can't go with those words... I'm sure he meant them, but then he gets feeling scared, claustrophobic, and like he will be locked down and tied down if he gets into a routine? Just give him space, don't act pissed off or chase him. You really should set it up in your mind that you will not hear from him for like 1-2 weeks following an intense, night together. That's just my and others experience sometimes. I know- it's not normal, and whether you want to accept it and put up with it, is your own decision.

I've been where you are and believe me I know the feeling. Last October, that cancer guy came to visit out of the blue -- previously we had a very confusing arguement (later he told me that the argument was prevoked by him because we were getting too CLOSE (???).
I hadn't saw him in one and a half, so natural I was more then alittle shocked we he drops by my place. I brainlessly hugged the cancer along with "making up" with him. He promised that things were going to be different and that he wanted to change his life around. He asked for my caring heart in order to support his "fragile" one :::OH GIVE ME A BREAK :::
To make along story short, he broke all those *wondeful* promises in favor of other women. I REFUSED TO BE ANOTHER NOTCH IN HIS BELT ... so I let go of my emotions and took MANY steps back.
It was hard only because I grew to care for him BUT BUT BUT, I didn't feel for him enough to live a lie.

If you trust him, then you should have nothing to worry about. The man is starting a new job, so he is probably just concentrating on that.
Since you are dealing with a cap man, the best thing is to be assertive (but don't be mean) with the objectives concerning the relationship. This seems to be the second time around so make sure that everything is out on the table. Also, don't give him too much too soon, take things slower this time okay Yes, I know it can be hard when you love someone, but don't get caught up like I did with the cancer guy.
Just like him know that he cannot run all over you anymore and things should be fine

Aquaaqi you are sooooo right. I was hooked by the sterotypical "bad boy" twice because he was very nice acted the part of the "gentleman". I prefer for a man to just be down-to-earth with me in the beginning and act like a gentleman later. That way I know whether or not is for real.
