in my comfortable bed (I've made my room my sactuary, it's really quite original and cool), I ove falling asleep on the beach, the great big hill behind my house that has a view of the ocean, etc... oh, and a cigarette to go alog with all of those activities as well. re: logic and emotion...
perhaps this is very much a cap thing, but many many times i will feel something (as in an emotion) and it will hurt me very deeply, or strongly and i'll have no clue what it is that is causing it, why it is that i'm upset. There is definitely something that has triggered it, but the root cause is a complete unknown to me. This might happen while have a serious/deep conversation with a friend, a lover, whoever. But something that they've said will not sit right with me and it will make either lash out or shut down. I can stand it when this happens because I feel completely without control over myself and I'll have no idea as to why.
so back to logic and emotion... yes haffo, i too believe that emotions have their logic. I'm not content to just react when I've been upset, I have to know why it is that I'm reacting or having the impulse to react. What ends up happening is that I shut down and become very distant while trying to figure out whats going on with me. Sounds weird, I know, but I'm convinced that I cant feel a certain way (upset) for no reason at all, so i dig inward and figure out as logically as i can figure emotions and end up at the reason. This used to happen a lot and i used to detach myself from whoever it was that made me feel that way for a while. Then when I have a better handle on things, I reapproach. I'm getting better at knowing my emotional self. I've come to the conclusion that you cant disregard how you feel about something. You can, however, control your reactions to it. Knowing and understanding the "why" in an emotion will give you more ability to take your feelings rather than having your feelings take you.
