Soul Contracts
I had never heard of this before, but I looked it up. This is the first and only link I've read on the topic:

Well, I didn't read all of it because it was long. The author kept saying "Astrologically" but only mentioned astrology like, 3/4ths of the way through.
There's something about this that I don't like. Part of it is that I don't like that the theory that I chose to sign up for these hardships. I can't explain it well, so I'm going to leave it at that.
As far as astrology goes, the author only uses basic astrology, stating that water signs, especially pisces, are closer to knowing and understanding the soul contract and past lives.

Have a wallow. It's natural. Healthy even. Then remember that family is not blood. That family is comprised of people who love you and want the best for you. Whoever those people happen to be. Then focus on them and you'll feel better.

Both of my parents are dead.
My extended family is flaky and can't be bothered with us most of the time. It's not as extreme as her situation, but I can relate to the family being in/out/whatever.
It sucks, but you adjust and learn to cope/get by doing what's best for you. OP, learn to develop a "fuck it" mentality. It takes time, but it makes life a lot easier in situations like this. You'll still be sad/upset, but not as devastated as you are in the declarations you're making here.
