I am not a script person either but I understand if someone has to take them. I've been trying the Buddhist approach of loss and emotions. Practice of detachment and awareness is helping. My losses have been back to back since 2012. I was in denial of what I was feeling. Big nono.

You're actually doing it. You're aware of what you're feeling. You're working on getting through it instead of ignoring it and waiting for it to pass. If you have to take something to help you detach and move on to be happy more power to ya.
