Posted by WalkergrlShe did on and off. She'd have her kids over to play and all that, and they both had interest in horses in common.Posted by rockyroadicecreamThe first thing I thought when I saw the message was that she was seeking me out for some negative reason, like terminal cancer or something. It scared me at first. I mean, really, we're all in our early 50's now... reality. But when I saw her latest post on fb in March, it turned everything around for me and was so incredibly exciting. She texted me today and said, "I feel like I just found my long lost favorite toy".
This happened with a friend of my mom's about a year ago. My brother and I had helped her reach out to friends she had from when we were kids. One she did get in touch with and talk to, and the other didn't get back to us til last year. She'd actually responded back in 2011 or 2012 and had only seen my brother's response last year.
He showed it to me because he wasn't sure how to respond considering my mom had died since we last heard from this lady. I was going to call her but I forgot and am not sure how to respond, myself. I don't know her all that well either.
Regardless, overall, it's amazing how much social media can play a role in getting back in touch with people from the past. She's got a great sense of humor!
I'm sad though, for your mom missing out on that connection. Did your mom reminisce about her over the years? I'm sure it would be awkward but if I had the opportunity to do something like that for my mom, I would call her and let her know what happened to your mom and maybe share some fond thoughts that she might have shared with you guys.click to expand
