I've been going out but still reserved when it comes to talking to people, the most I've been talking is here on dxp, and to some of my close friends. I don't feel good to come back out yet.click to expand

Posted by nanobyteI agree. give a person enough rope they will hang themselves.
I don't think you should get involved. I've gotten involved at work once with a man (a taurus sun, leo moon no less lol), because I was new.. in a new town, didn't know anyone and he took immediate interest. Yea, like LadyNeptune said, don't shit where you eat. It's just not worth it, and you don't want to be a part of creating an even more uncomfortable work environment.
As for the taurus.... just watch her dig herself a hole. People get revenge on themselves, if you give it enough time. Then you don't even have a karmic debt to pay and you get to secretly revel in it at no cost. Patience, grasshopper.

That Finland national anthem is one very powerful anthem man. I wish I had the power to steal their national anthem and bring it here in the states.

Posted by xXxQueenliciaXxXThank you and your opinions are not unfounded as well.Posted by beautifulsoul74Posted by IxionI like and respect you as well.Posted by beautifulsoul74I like you I do, and yes at base, we are all human.Posted by DamnataAgreed.Posted by beautifulsoul74Nah, black men are thugs.
We're human beings at the end of the day folks.
*the sad reality that what you said has to be stated again and again *sigh*
I'm going to put this out there...right or wrong...because hopefully it will give all a different perspective.
What I find maddening about this whole subject is that by continually putting it in terms of race, we(all of us) as people undermine the push for us to be treated equally and justly as human beings. Words, race, gender, are merely wedges to divide us. What equally maddening is that the answers we seeks are right there in front of us. I don't see tigers putting each other down because their stripes are different. If they fight it is in the defense of themselves. Therefore it is no different then when injustice happens to another human being. It hurts no differently. When a police officer kills an unarmed black man, I don't see it that way. I see it as a human being deprived of life unjustly and I would feel no different if it happened to a white person. Same as men vs women. Again, we are humans and if things are to change we must start addressing each other as that...and that only...human. It may sound all kumbaya yada but I'll say this. Words only have the power we give them. So does the words race, hoe, the n word. We are all simply seeking equal treatment and dignity as humans. No more, no less. So perhaps it's time we deal and express ourselves using language that is conducive for understanding to take place.
But we do have identities some chosen, some given, and in truth so long as we live in a world where the systems of society treat us differently based upon those differences those identities necessarily carry very real practical weight. To ignore that is dangerously naive in my honest opinion as it blinds someone who lives under the yoke of an unwanted or socially unfavorable identity from the danger that is aimed at their identity group.
With that being said, since you mentioned "practicality," I'll present you with this:
"Whatever mixed breed. U ain't the spokesperson for black women."
These are the OP's words which can be found on page two of the thread. He not only racially injured her(QueenAlicia) but also demeaned her along the lines of gender as well. In that simple phrase I see no less than three injustices. One because she's black, second because she's mixed race, third because she's a woman. Remember, I'm going on your premises here...I said it's about being human. While I agreed with your first post mentioning misogyny, you addressed Damnata's words but never said anything directly to the OP about his words and actions. Just, to be honest and no offense, a passive aggressive response to them.
My point being, having a system in place designed to keep a certain segment of humans in a certain state does not justify...committing acts of injustice. I'll present it in practical terms. Injustice is injustice and if you are going to address the behavior of one(perceived or otherwise) then you need to address the behavior of the other in the exact same manner. In other words, if you are going to dispense or seek justice, don't undermine your effort by overlooking the injustices of those who you are arguing for. That's not justice...it's revenge. This is no defense or put down of Damnata as I said before I agree with both your points. Good day sir.
Very well put.
You have been the voice and balance for both sides that this debate desperately needed.click to expand

Why are black men so fucking chauvinistic? I can't stand it.
It was an unqualified statement. That is what puts your commentary about the topic in this thread on the radar.
As for my choice of style for my response and it being cowardly, that would imply I had a fear of voicing my concerns.
Definitely not the case, to be certain.
As for male-led misogyny being an issue in the black community, yes it is.
It was a generalized statement meant to garner attention. Factual nonetheless.
I went on later to clarify that this did not pertain to all black men, but I'm more than certain that you didn't read through all of my responses thoroughly. Your objective was to blindly defend the misogynistic black man simply because you are also a black man.
All I'm saying to you right now is, either address me (or whoever) directly or not at all. Otherwise it does come off as cowardly. You're giving yourself the chance to explain your stance while not letting the person you're referring to explain theirs. Does that make sense?
If I were addressing an issue that I had with you I would tag you because I believe in a fair debate, both parties should have a chance to state their cases or views. That's all I ask. I don't see you as a brotha who is unreasonable or ignorant. So hopefully you understand where I'm coming from. This is not an attack on black men. This is me confronting an issue that is prominent in the black community among many black men, but I know not all black men are this way. It's an issue that is way too overlooked and it's the root of why there is so much chaos within the black community.
My issues with your first comment, however, is that the generalized statement you made had absolutely no delimitation.... by its very nature the statement couldn't be a fact. Even with your clarification later on that (I did read by the way) as the thread progressed it still doesn't invalidate my initial comment.
As for my intents, objectives, desires, reasoning and rationale... well you don't actually know any of that, beyond what I tell you here. I have no love for the OP or his views in part or portion.
SN: I don't move blindly nor give knee jerk reactions in all segments of my life this one included.
Fair enough.
You have the right to feel however you want to feel about my initial comment even though I have already clarified more than once what I actually meant when I made that comment.
You came on the thread fighting the OP's battle by immediately going head to head with Damnata. You weren't really addressing anything ignorant that the OP said. You have now that it was brought to your attention, but initially that was not so. So I think you can understand why there was some hostility initially.
I do believe that you're not like the OP and that you are more than capable of forming a structured opinion that isn't just based off of blind emotion and ignorance. However, the way you came into the thread initially, similar to my initial comment, gave off the wrong impression about your intentions. I think we're on the same page now though.click to expand
Posted by DiamondAceYeah! You are right.. whenevr things went wrong between us he just left me and told me that he doesn't want it anymore and then aftr sometime came back and asked to fix it... I did everything to save it.. also gave him alot many handmade gifts.. showed him that how much I love him but... its heart breaking.. he couldn't do anything to make me feel special... being best frnds for years and then in a relationship as well he simply said no matter how much we fight we gonna stay together but never proved it..
This may not sound very encouraging but I would say walk away from this relationship. He needs to find himself. He's not confident in himself or your relationship. His actions are much louder right now than the words he speak. Being with someone like that will DEFINITELY end up in a divorce. Sorry to say, but it's true. You can be a distant friend and be there only sometimes but go live your life and take care of yourself as well because if you're scared to never having someone else then you are also dealing with your own insecurities and two people together who are insecure does not create a long and healthy relationship but it will end up in a lot of pain.
