I'm thinking that the vow should be more along the lines of, "Until irreconcilable differences lead us asunder."
And I am not even kidding. The divorce rate is ridiculously high, and only gets higher the younger you are. I'd say a low, and I do mean a VERY low percentage of the total population can actually make this commitment to one person until the end of their days at a young age. And this usually comes after a fairly large portion of life has already been lived.
When it comes to aging. Yeah, we age. It's part of the life cycle, but that doesn't mean you throw in the towel. I've known very attractive post menopausal women, who ARE THIN. One thing you don't ever hear them say is, "Oh, I've had three kids, and you just lose it, you know?" They say, "I have three kids but that isn't stopping me."
It's one thing to live, it's another to be alive, and a lively partner I will always want around whether we are married or not.

Currently I am not. However, longevity in relationships is tricky. Someone married for 20+ years would see my longest relationship of 4 years as maybe a moderate amount of time at the most. But someone who doesn't even have a year under their belt would likely see it as a really long time to be with someone.
Fact of the matter is, we change so much as we age. Physically, we age the fastest when we are infants, and then it slows down drastically once reaching adulthood. Mentally though is a process that is constantly flowing and changing, and it makes sustaining a long term relationship very difficult.
You can bee 100% compatible with someone today, and 0% compatible with the same person a short amount of years later. So even those who have gone the distance, I wonder exactly if they are happy in their marriage, or just complacent. Couples who are very much in love still break up when differences are too great. Indeed, compatibility is even more important than love to keep people together. I don't believe love is required to keep a relationship going, but it IS required for it to remain happy.
